We will be ordering a 64 man Source server. We are looking for people to donate for this server. Everytime I try to get on the server there is either nobody on or it says not responding.
Is there anything wrong or do I have the wrong IP?

I run 5 CAL CS:S match servers, and have admin'd over a dozen public servers in the last several years.

If you guys need help with setup / scripting / etc, just let me know!

ok we need help ... this CS.S thing is kinda a me thing and i have no clue realy how to admin this stuff. i am haveing trouble with the rcon and i dont even have a clue what mani mod admin is ... so any help would be great. i am usually in ventrio around 7-8 pm west coast time.

If you need some help with admin stuff, try asking the admin at fraggit.com. I know him, and while he is a bit of a douche, he knows his stuff. "n00b pwnage" or Josh.

yaddam is right. 1.6 is still more popular than source. especially with more skillful players. although, once you play source for a while, it's hard to go back to 1.6.

I've played a lot of both 1.6 and Source, and I have to say I like Source a lot better. Playing a game with circa-1998 graphics on a high-performance gaming machine is kind of... ghey.
Most people will say that Source is "too easy," but I haven't really noticed a difference. If anything, Source is a little easier because you can see a lot better.

They basically made source easier for noobs by making everything open and reducing recoil. The result? A person who's been playing for 2 weeks owns you by spraying his galil from 200 yards away.

From a CAL-M player in both games I can officially state that everything you guys have pointed out is 100% FUD.

If I had to pick, it would be source.

i actually quit playing CAL and other leagues and pretty much just hang out in gungame servers now. i've found a couple good ones where i can basically just sit back and have fun with guys i've become friends with and not really worry about the competition. gun game is a lot of fun.

Where are you playing on?

I Play mostly KT TH and DiG, only because those were the first 3 i found and my buddy is in KT, however i'd love to shoot around with some XS'ers i've only been playing for ~ 2 weeks. but im okay, usually 1:1 KD Ratio

haha. yea thats a really fun server. once you get to know a lot of the regulars its a great time. how good you are in gun game really just depends on how well you know the maps and judging where people are going to be. i played pretty well last night though. i got like 5 wins in a row :D
