While I was looking for RAM for my new intel system, I couldn't believe my eyes. Does anyone know what happened to RAM prices? I bought my OCZ 1Gb kit for 83 dollars on newegg. I just came across it today, and found it at 134 ( + 10 MIR). WTF. I don't get it. Is there a shortage or something? Prices have skyrocketed 50+ bucks. ANyone know why?

There has been an increase in demand due to Conroe and AM2. Without an increase in supply, price increases.

Yeah, when I bought G.SKILL 2GB of RAM was around $150, then I checked again in a few months later, it is now around $350.

Micron prices are going thru the roof, other ICs are cheaper but don't clock quite as well.

If you want the best looks like you will have to pay for it, sorry guys

yeah, I was watching the Mushkin XP-5400. that stuff went from 202 to 334 dollars. Although I did find one place that was still selling for 202. But I'm looking for another gb (1 gb kit). I don't really need any more than that (i really don't want to spend over 100 dollars).

I think Team Xtreme prices went up the most though. It went from 92 dollars to 164....... that's quite a jump.
