OK, I think that I have the coolest wife in North America. I woke up this morning and found a large wrapped box on my desk with a big bow on top. She bought me a new Thermaltake Armor VA8003 Series chassis.

I have no idea how she knew I had my eyes on this one, besides seeing one in passing at Micro Center. Hope she has not been looking at my bookmarks! :nono: :slapass:

Having gone through many boxes, this one is the sweetest one yet! Tons of room to hide things and plenty of quiet fans to keep'er cool!

What impressed me most of all is the 250mm fan. This thing is virtually silent...blows at 600 RPMs and 15dBA.

Does anybody know where I can find a Blue LED or UV reactive replacement 250mm fan for this?

Still working to get my rig switched over. Will post pics when it is done.

The Armor is really easy to work on...for certain. Had to do some grinding on it with my dremel to get my double-bay Aquagate to fit properly.

Anyone have a clue where I can find a 25cm replacement fan for the side intake in either blue UV or LED? This is driving me nuts!!:brick:

No mobo tray in that case = wiring is one big b:banana: tch. Other than that the case is nice and cheap.

thermaltake do sell the side panel with the 25cm fan all in but its not UV/LED, not sure if they sell the fan on its own.

I have yet to see a 25cm fan in retail ince cases started to come with them.

Aerocool also makes a case with a 25cm fan (the aeroengine) but its also sans led.

Its a good case to play with!

I have to say, I love this Case. It's easy to work in and has lots of room and the air flow seems real good :D

very nice indeed. ave had a look at the Shark case and its seems smaller for some reasom compared to the internal size of the Armor.

I know this may be a weird request but can you post a pic of the other side, (non window side panel), its just am getting my case air brushed and need to know if the image will fit without interfering with something

I really wish these sidepanels with 250mm fan were on the market when I bought my Armor as I'd really have a need of it and too lazy to mod myself and besides dunno where to buy a suitable 250mm fan. I get a pretty huge temp increase with closed sidepanel due to all these HDDs, especially the blasted IDE cabels in front of 3x hdds + DVD-RW...

Nice case btw, I love it!

Since I don't need a 80mm fan as gfx card warm air exhaust anymore I wanted to have some use of it so I made a dual 80mm setup using rubber band for my OCZ Gold VX ram today, so now they don't have to sweat anymore.

Thermaltake Armor is still my fav full tower case, judged by the looks. Well Shark looks nice too I must admit but I really need the space + cooling capabilities with the Armor. 4x120, 2x92, 2x80 and 1x60mm (+ 1x120mm for my usb hdd) case fans here, all at 12v (in total 15 fans in this comp setup). lol

Sounds like to need to nail your case down to your desk with all of those fans. 15 fans must make it nice and chilly!!:)

Console, Tt has an online store to buy replacement panels for you rig. keep checking to see if they start selling them. $35 for a panel isn't terrible. The fanned panel may be a little more.

Out of the topic here, but do anyone know the two rectangular clear plastics for? I've searched all over the net, and couldn't find what they are for? :D

Are you talking about these? I would like to know as well. I have emailed Tt customer support to get an answer. Nothing yet.

Did you read the instructions? It is for BTX motherboards, you are supposed to cover the 2 bumps in the middle. If you don't you can french fry your motherboard.

Unfortunately, there was no instruction manual that came with the case...just a box of hardware and parts. I even went to the website to try to find a pdf to download. Nothing! :(

Don't know if you found one or not yet, but try this one (http://www.performance-pcs.com/catalog/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=327&products_id=20929)... Hope this helps.

I just ordered one for my Armor too.

at first i wished the 25cm fan was led, but now i think it would be too much. I need to get a PSU thats Modular and sleeved nicely. And then i think a blue cathode or two would make it all the better.
I like this case a lot btw, everything is nice and cool, and pretty quiet.
A 25cm fan that was a little faster would be cool though, just to move a teeny bit more air.
EDIT: AWWW that fan in the link above sounds SWEET.... You had temp me...

How are you liking that ULTRA power supply? Is the power stable, are the rails consistent?

QFT, I wish I had a cam to take pic with to prove this with my own, it's even that bad so I usually keep sidepanel removed. Gives a nice 5-7C temp drop on almost any component LOL.

Of course I don't have the sidepanel with the 25cm fan which I'd need but it costs more than it's worth to upgrade to it, wish these versions had been around when I bought my Armor. :stick:

This comp case's strong point is the room and appearence for those into this stuff, as there's not many other similiar full tower cases around. It has great cooling capabilities (open front offers excellent and easy installation of at least one more 120mm fan, a good spot is on top of floppy drive bay easily attached using zipties to tie it to the 5.25" hdd bay holes) of course as long as you don't have a PowerStream PSU along 10x case fans, 6x internal hdds (3x pata + 3x sata) + a DVD-RW with pata connector etc the wiring job becomes a nightmare, it's either break the cables or break the case. lol For silent enthusiasts, STAY AWAY. :p It's definitely not targeted at all people, some people love this comp case and think it's perfect, others hate it.

In Orthos the bad wiring in my case is noticable in following way too, cpu about 2-3 hrs stable or so with 1.42v at 2.8GHz, whit sidepanel removed at least 6hrs+ stable.

Yah, the pump on my Thermaltake system took a dump a few nights ago :slapass:, so I had to get back to the stock fan for now. I may look to build my own water cooled system using Danger Den parts. Any thoughts. As a side note, my stock fan is keeping my cpu about 2 degrees COOLER than the water. WTF?

At CES they were showing a lighted fan with projected temperature readings. They are even considering letting you modify what it shows. They will have it available as an upgrade soon.
