i don't like this since i do a lot of reinstalls and change out hardware....i won't buy Vista!...as a gamer, if you are, you might be forced to buy it so to use DX10 and the newer games that come out.

"The first user of the software may reassign the license to another device one time. If you reassign the license, that other device becomes the "licensed device," reads the license for Windows Vista Home Basic, Home Premium, Ultimate, and Business. In other words, once a retail copy of Vista is installed on a PC, it can be moved to another system only once.

Games will work just fine on XP for a VERY long time to come.

Games developers cant afford to sell to only vista gamers, and its going to take a few years to get more than a handfull onto vista. most "normall" gamers wont change OS untill they buy a new PC.

Remeber that what it says legaly in the lcence isnt allways how it works out in relaity. I remeber the same fears about windows XP.

If you wan't more you pay more, DX10 games might look better then on Win XP, but Win Vista and DX10 will be an alternative (a better looking one ) for future Games, only time knows for how long.

In a way you're right there will be a Time when an Error pops at installing a game saying: "Windows Vista or Above" - I bet the first game with this error will be made by Microsoft ( same thing happend whit Age of Empires 3 and the suport for Windows 2000 ), all this depends on how many customers or willing to buy Windows Vista.

The way these things are beginning to sound, there is bound to be at least one aspect of the EULA that will be illegal, rendering the entire EULA unbinding.

Reason why the x86 OS project has yet to be sued ;)

There are 4 threads about this in the news section with links, etc, if you're looking for a bit more info.
