Hi everyone,
i've seen a lot of nice cases here so i decided to post my own as well...
It's has gone through some hardware and cooling modifications since the begining...
It was a bit messy, actually it still is... :p:

Nicely applied paint.
Mr. Chuckles
10-12-2006, 08:19 AM
Is that paint or powder-coating?
Patuga
10-12-2006, 08:24 AM
the case was painted just like a car is...
the powder coating is that transparent thingy to protect the paint, right?
it was metalic paint, powder coating (i think think that's it) and it was polished after
EDIT: sorry... up until now all parts had been painted with spray paint... motip powa.
the real painting will come later :P

Some more pics...
The idea was to paint the interior in one colour and the exterior in another darker one. the colour i chose was blue. the two tones of blue you see in the Coldzero logo.

How come you're hacking holes into a freshly painted part...why not do all the modifications before paint?

:woot: Another Stacker!
Nice paint job, but I have to agree modding should come before painting. Saves having to repaint if marred/scratched.
Would you mind adding your Stacker to my Stacker SLACKER! (http://www.xtremesystems.org/forums/showthread.php?t=102550)thread?
Patuga
10-12-2006, 03:29 PM
sure... i'll do that.
The thing about that is... i think too damn much about the things i want to do... and if i hadn't had the case painted 4 months ago... it still wouldn't be painted today as I still don't really know how i'll do everything...
so now at least i have a painted stacker :stick:

Here i made some changes... all the previous hardware is gone apart from the vga card. also i'm now using the Swiftech Mc-res micro, as the BullZeye is inefective for high-flow (too short and doesn't damp (desacelerates) the water smothly and silently like the micro does, not to mention i always had air on the system because of that. it may return again soon even though i need to have it anodized again (long story) and also i replaced a 10w laing for a 18w laing plus...

what a mess :P will need to arrange the Hdd so that the connections side face the mobo side so that they can be hidden.

one of the waterblocks i'll make for the aw9d. i'll have them made this week with some luck... :D:D:D:D:D:D
http://i103.photobucket.com/albums/m145/Patuga/Blue_Storm/Patuga_48.jpg
i'll also remove the plexi top on the pump and put the regular cover on. i'll make the outlet strait instead of having a 90º barb.

Patuga nice build. I have one suggestion though. Use the top inlet of your pump. It gets much better performance that way. Use a straight barb for the inlet not an elbow.
Patuga
10-13-2006, 11:36 AM
yeah... i know that... i did that because i thought the psu wouldn't fit as the powerstream are 17cm long, but it did... i'm going to change the pump... gonna use an mcp655 @ 24v :toast: and a 10w laing for the second loop.

http://i103.photobucket.com/albums/m145/Patuga/Blue_Storm/Patuga_57.jpg

Looking good, but one thing, why all the 90 degree bends? That for sure will damage the flowrate.... But then if it is only for small stuff and space/routing is an issue it probably won't be a problem I suppose :)
Patuga
10-26-2006, 04:58 PM
yes... it's to get it as neet as possible... flow doesn't matter, since it will only be for the second loop. the cpu and vga will be left alone. also... any of these waterblocks is less restrictive than the storm... :D:D:D:D:D:D:D
just removed my radiator... what a mess... i could grow vegetables in it... lot of dust... :S:S:S:S

wow great build and I love the 'on the fly" complete parts-revisions. lol
I have one very important question....did you ever run the ABIT with the standard heatpipe coolers on it?
I was wondering if the heatpipes will work upside down (because you installed the motherboard upside down, BTX style)
I know some heatpipes wont work good upside down, and I am unsure about the AW9D...(my next board)
did they work 100%?

yes i did. they work pretty well actually. they all idle below 40ºc when in full and with some vmch you should add a fan to the chipset heatsink... gets relly hot.. :P

why everything with 90* elbows?
also, why not use the better performing top-inlet on that alphacool top since your drilling up anyway.

You're right... it might just be in line with the other reservoir port :toast: :toast: I'll measure that now... tks :D
As for the elbows... the objective is to get things as tiddy as possible, and since it will be for the NB, SB and mosfet wb only, flowrates don't really matter much. I'm using plug 'n cool 8/6mm tube (1/4" ID) which is easier to plug then the innovatec conector type :p:
On the main loop there's only 90º conectors on the radiator for the reservoir and because i have 3 hdd cages... soon all will go away with a custom made reservoir and hdd waterblocks...
of course soon for me means in this life-time... :slapass: :slapass: :slapass:

I just got some Tri-Cools in 92mm and 120mm varieties that I am quite happy with. I was really looking for clear, relatively quiet fans that accomodate fan controllers well.
Recently purchased SilenX Xtrema fans do not like reduced voltage, they start whirring at anything less than 90% (a guess, but very little from max.) At full speed they are good though, but maybe not good enough for the price (don't flame me people, I've heard all the SilenX issues before).

They are pretty much the best fan for performance/noise. I have 4 Yate Loon 120mm and 1 140mm in my case, and I can't hear it sitting 3 feet away from me with the fans at 7v.
