View Full Version : Ran Test5 Looped (138 Pass, 2 Errors, "Stable Enough"?)

Today I pushed my Patriot 667 LLKs to 900Mhz with 5-5-5-12 timings @ 2.0V
I looped test#5 because that (and I believe test#8) is where the errors usually occur - they are the most stressful of all the tests.
Well anyway, I started it, went to my classes, and came back 3 hours later...
138 Pass - 2 Errors
Errors occured after I passed it 88 times.
Stable enough? (I'm asking because I didn't run the memtest program for like 8 hours, but I did run the real stress test - constantly stressing them ram for over 3 hours).
I could probably fix these errors and even get better timings with 2.1V, but for now I'd like to see my maximum at 2.0V

test 5 alone wont say much about stability, it's just a quick way of stressing ram real fast... if your in a hurry, test 5 is a good place to start, but not enough to really test the ram with that alone.

What else can I use to test it then? The only stress test program I use in Windows is Go-Orthos, but I'm not running a large overclock anyway.
(E6600 @ 2.88Ghz)
(And my ram at 800Mhz 4-4-4-10)
Now I'm trying to push the ram, and trying to find a FSB/multi combo that will push my CPU over 3.0Ghz, and have my ram around 900Mhz (already know I lose stability with stock voltage around 3.2Ghz)

Memtest for windows :)

Just let memtest run through over the night. I've gotten errors in tests 2 and 6 but not five. Also, if you want a good windows burn-in, any dc app should be pretty good (WCG, F@H, SoB, etc).

Try Orthos or Prime Blend Test for RAM.

Completely agree with you. I dont waste my time with memtest anymore ;)

I would... but my computer has this wierd squeeling noise coming from it when I run Go-Orthos blend or ram test (does not happen with a cpu only test). I'll download Prime 95 and give it a go later.
Right now I'm testing 400x8 (looking for a nice 3Ghz+ overclock) so I've got 800Mhz ram running fine, but I'd rather go 450x7. (I am hoping my DS3 F6 bios can get the FSB that high)
Does anyone know what the voltage range for the Patriot's LLKs are?
1.8V is standard -> 2.1-2.2V that maximum?

You could probably push for 2.3v with a fan on your ram.
