View Full Version : Lian Li V2000 High perf "Snap-on" kit
Ssilencer

Well, the idea of this unit was put together phase change and high performance water in the bottom part of the v2000, and also do it in a way you can take in/out the complete kit easily
Our friend Diego asked us for this for long time.
The "KIT" :
Embraco FF12 1/3hp LBP r12 compressor charged with r502
Custom made condenser
@itor evap kit Acrilic ultra model
@itor High performance watercooling 120.2 radiator (http://www.devilmaster.org/modules.php?name=News&file=article&sid=87) with 2 Panaflo FBA12G12H1A, controlled by the new G-Froster X3 (meanwhile I will use the new XE2.0, 2 K type thermal probes, etc)
@itor made the Special Intercooler shroud to fit the condenser/radiator and 2 120mm Panaflo
First pics of the kit:

http://img245.imageshack.us/img245/2581/conjuntolrmediumca8.jpg
We will mount it over a Conroe x6800 and a 7900gtx sli and asus p5wgs pro Chipset too, all waterblocks and the Reservoir made by @itor too

Excellent work Ssilencer. You know these days I just love to see people using new ideas and build units thats little different to others.
Not a small unit atall, CPU cooling should be way up there with NL11f units and the watercooling top notch. Not some bs black ice radiator. I believe thats true 3 pass in there.
Enclosure looks great and for some reason the chrome looks good on that one. I had chrome on my last unit but removed it. I didnt like it.
Nice, very nice :D

Thanks guys, just unloaded(-60c), I need to mount it over the x6800 to tune it.
The most dificult part was to find a way to fit all this on the v2000 bottom part, hours of Solidworks, as @itor likes to say :).
Hehehe, Thanks Johann, I was loking for you to send you the pics first, but I didn't find you...
And yes, TRUE 3 pass radiator with special copper fins design to avoid air restriction.

Not yet, I need to mount it over the x6800 to tune it with r502, if r502 don't give me what I want, I will change to r402 or whatever needed :D
Still have room for high pressure gases, we have to 103cfm panaflos there and the high side on 502 wasn't more than 160psi unloaded...

Im guessing the size of the condenser means you have to mount the PSU in the front drivebays? Or can you squize it in the bottom still?

Ah if you sell any will you include a template?
Sure, that's not a problem.
Anyway, the idea was to make this one for a friend, to do it for international sale we have to change materials to make it lighter, well, there is a lot of things that can be done about this kit.

For sure, is meant to have cross airflow.
Or you mean covering the base? any other unit make for a v200 cover the base, and I really don't think the base of the lv200 do sh.. about airflow.
nice work Ssilencer, that is one tight build there hey, i know how much time and work that would have taken to get it like that :toast:

i think noob is saying when you put side pannels on case it will be restricted.
ie they can only draw/blow air in from front and back of case unless moded.

I think the 'cartridge' format is great Ssilencer :)
The need for the line to be where it is still means it's limited to V2000 cases, but with just a couple mods it's a pretty fast fit.
Still not sure I see the idea behind the w/c rad as intercooler tho, can you explain?
I'd love to see a w/c BPHE for condensor, mated to even just a single PA120.1 at the back above. Being water I think it woulkd do very well, and could still be a cartridge fit.
Cheers

I like the thinking Gray. Just run a water loop up to the 120mm fan slot a the back. Then you really would only have to do the minimal amount of modding to the case. It would look pretty damn cool as well(Not that it doesn't already anyway):)

Intercooler it is just a way to call it, it is not for now, but there are some things I want to test in the next.

Let me see, the thread name is "Lian LI V2000 HIGH PERF KIT", so yes IT IS LIMITED TO V2000, it is that difficult to understand?:)
We fit a dual 120.2 and we will get better temps on the 3 waterblocks with the fans running at just 50% and also helping to run the condenser with superb air flow at that speed, looks like I don't understand something you are saying. why I need to put a POS 120.1 rad when I can fit a 120.2 high perf rad.?
This is single unit, not a commercial line being made, and we can make it whatever the customer needs. This one wanted the best watercooling parts we can fit inside the v2000 with phase, another one can ask for a pos watercooling and phase, you know. As I didn't see any other v2000 with a 120.2 altogether with a phase in the bottom part to copy, we had to find a way to do it and this was the best way.
BTW, how is your hand?
Gray Mole
10-11-2006, 10:23 AM
Hand is screaming at me, but getting better. Typing with one hand is a pain.
Didn't mean to replace the rad with a smaller one, esp now that I realise it's actually for a water loop. Calling it an intercooler made me think perhaps it could be for additional condensor cooling.
I was just thinking of BPHE condensor again :p: one day I'll do that, and figred a 120.1 would work well with that and still fit the 'cartridge' style you're using.
You seem a little touchy today Ssilencer ;) I can spare you a little of my Prozac if you'd like, they doubled my prescription last time :D
Nice work though. As always your customer will be very happy :toast:

Yeap, I told you many times to send me some, you never did it and looks what we got :D
Yes, I was thinking about using a slhx to go before the condenser in the loop, so I can get maybe a pair of degrees better in the water, and also get cool air over the condensor, letting me play high a high pressure gas maybe, but this is a customer machine, and I really don't have time to play this kind of games with my money for now.

Thanks, we are still working on that computer, next week I will have some final pics also.
Nice die temps there sscilencer:toast:
but those spi times arnt look very good for the oc.
also for orthos you need to allocate ram to get rid of that paging error.
I think he just caught a screenshot whilst it was paging for a second or so, this happens once every few minutes approx. Orthos auto allocates the ram, unlike prime 95 where you had to set it through the custom option. If you have 2 gb Orthos will use 1790mb by defalut which I think is fine.

As you can see, I'm a looser overclocking the Conroe :P
want to know something funny? I didn't know how to run a dual spi, took me a day :(
Also, this proc is really weird, runs great at 1.55 or 1.6, but looks like hates high volts, temps dif on 1.7 is about 1c, so I know that is not temps propblem, but this one runs spi 1m at 4575, but if you put 4576 spi just reset the computer, no error in spi, no nothing, plain reset, at any multiplier, so I think we have a problem setting the motherboards maybe, also, I can't get any program to read nothing in negative temps.

I really don't know, and yes, orthos showed that "paging" once every few minutes.
yeah I checked it myself, even if you change the allocation of ram manually the paging still happens every few minutes, so there's nothing wrong with the screenshot at all.

Well, @itor didn't check xs :)
He is making reservoirs like that for long time ago, the second fitting on this one is perpendicular from the one you see.

yes, that led has 20 lumen power..
There is another weird led, that has 4 microleds (20lumen x4 maybe) that you can make them bright individually, but the power requirement is 5 watts,I tested it with 13v and it was not enought for the 4 microleds together.
