If I could be recommended a quiet yet powerful compressor for a dual head SS to cool these upcomming power hungry G80s that would be much appreciated. I'm thinking for decent temps I'll need at least a 3/4hp compressor but mainly I want it to be absolutly as quiet as possible. I've already got a 1/2hp rotary cooling my cpu which is pretty quiet for a rotary, but that's almost all I can take. Any recommendations? Thanks

aspera nek series is really silent!

I have one, but it's pretty small with 3/8hp, but it's bigger available.

thanks man, I actually know where I can get my hands on a 3/4 hp Aspera

This compressor (http://www4.mailordercentral.com/bflsupply/prodinfo.asp?number=11-T2168GK) is the one. Quiet for a 3/4hp?

Try to get a R134A compressor from Danfoss's SC-Series.

I had SC21 R134a compressor and it was VERY VERY noisy.

I agree, find a Embraco NEK series, proppably your best choice or perhaps Electrolux MP14FB, its reasonably silent and nice and powerfull.

In my opinion SC compressor ar as loud as MP14FB, maybe you had a bad one?

Maybe it was bad, for sure, after that one I never buy it again

I was thinking I may just go with 2 smaller compressors, 1 for each evap instead of one single big one for dual evaps... Would that be a quieter option? And anyone with any links to these Embraco "NEK" series for purchasing in North America? Im assuming the compressor in the link I gave above is not a NEK series...?

If you want quiet, go for a scroll.

The SC12MLX may be up to your expected usage. Good luck, or just go find a quiet rotary. (Bit of an oxymoron but they do exist)

Depending on how cold ya want it be easier and cheaper to go with a single compressor. Even a -20/-30c will give ya great results oc wise and not have to worry too much about condensation etc with ya gpus.
2 systems = 2 fans + 2 compressors that’s 2twice as a single system.

The SC21 R134a I tried was a little loud compared to small compressors like 1/4hp and 1/3hp, but nothing to loud

I would totally recommend 2 compressors.

Something in an Aspera 1/6hp x 2 would be very very quiet as a pair and be more consistent and reliable than dual evap.

If you don't hve the space, or can only afford one compressor, maybe try to find a NLE12 110v compressor. The NL Danfoss compressors are generally very quiet, and that should have the power you'd need to get very nice temps.

thanks everyone for your input. I hope this isnt asking too much, but what would really help is if somone could point out a quiet compressor in THIS (http://www.rsl.ca/CAT2006/page1.pdf) catalogue. Its from Refrigerative Supply here in the city and although they are over priced, they are close, I dont have to worry about shipping, and it'll save a lot of hassle trying to find these compressors your all recommending. Just look through the main index at the compressor brand names and click the page number to give you a list of models. Hope that's not asking too much but Id appreciate :)

How about the Embraco FFI 12BKW... ? its in the catalogue, its 1/3hp, so also good enough to get me some decent temps?

Also what do you guy's think of the sound blankets on this page http://www.rsl.ca/CAT2006/page42.pdf would that overheat the compressor at all?
