So you want to rip the cores of the qx6700 and glue the x6800 cores on the qx6700???
Try it, but only will cost you abot 2000 euro on broken CPU's

You can't do that. Take the die off the PCB and you have a dead chip. And why would you want to do that anyway? It's the same core. If you want a good overclocker, you'll need a lucky hand or tons of cash to go throgh 20 or more CPUs (or less if you'll be lucky before).

No offence but the equpment and skills required to do this would cost stupid money. I dont know who intel use for what I am asuming some sort of wire bonding equip but I bet they cost >$2,000.

What?

You can't take a CPU die off a package and put it on another (and end up with a working result) without super-expensive multi-million dollar equipment. Forget about it.

He wants to take two X6800 cores and put them on one CPU socket.

You can't do it, you neither have the tools or knowledge to do it.

you need the tools that intel uses.

either I am not understanding you correctly or you seem to think that you can swap/take cpu/dies off and swap them around. Unless you are able to camp out in intels R/D department for a few years or you are highly advanced In the electronics front then forget about it.

If you have got a friend who can speak/write English get him to post what you are trying to say as you are not making much sense. :)

what is your native language?
its not worth it to go about doing it
considering resources and money

prosk8 - If you wish, you can send me a PM in Hebrew explaining what you wanted to ask here. I will rephrase it in English afterwards and post it for you. So hopefully that way you will receive more concrete answers.

Man, just stop it. ;) I'm sorry to say, but your postings don't make any sense and that didn't change, regardless how often you tried to say what you wanted to say. Please accept that your english isn't good enough to express your question.

Go and write GGuyZ a PM in Hebrew and let him translate it. Please don't misunderstand me, no offence taken! My english is also far away from being perfect, but I learned it for years in school and most of the time, people understand what I want to say. But sometimes you just have to realize that your knowledge concerning a special technique or language just isn't cutting it and that it's time to get some help (GGuyZ in this case).

Do yourself a favour and contact GGuyZ. I hope that someone will be able to really answer your question then. ;)

LOl. I'm sorry, but this is ridiculous. Not only does the guy have horrible grammar, the idea is farfetched and flat out retarded. You can get your hands on a Q6700 for 1100 - 1500 USD. X6800 is 999-1100 USD..... Why would you spend twice the money for 2 X6800s, assuming you even could put it together? And you can get the little mhz gap between the 6700 and 6800s easily with a little overclocking..... I'm pretty sure this is just a stupid joke though....
