Originally I submitted this to MountainMods, but haven't heard back from them... so here I'm going to ask you guys for input on my idea before I try again.
It wouldn't go into the UFO line-up, as it is completely different. If you don't think there'd be a large enough market for it to be produced at quantity, I'd be interested in a quote for having it made for me one-of-a-kind.
I came up with this because of not having the space under my desk for a width of 18 inches, but having plenty of height and depth available. A description follows:
-------------------
General Dimensions:
Width: 15 inches (a 3 inch shavings is JUST enough for it to fit under my desk, go figure)
Height: 25 inches
Depth: 20 inches
Volume: 7500 cubic inches
Front:
20x 5.25in external bays in the front-top
3x 120mm fan holes in the front-bottom compatible with the MountainMods 120mm hard drive racks and the Thermochill radiators.
3x 120mm hard drive racks included for support for up to 9x hard drives
power, reset, pc speaker, 4x USB, 2x firewire, headphone, and mic, in the front-middle (between the 2 columns of 5.25 bays)
Rear:
2x easy-removal PSU mounts at the bottom of the case aligned so that we can have space for putting 2x 60mm fans between them.
2x 60mm fan holes aligned with one on top of the other.
12x 120mm fan holes aligned to fit at least 2x (3x possible?) 120.3 type radiators. (Thermochil PA or HE series, as per your current standard)
Motherboard:
Motherboard mount is above the level for psu's and the hard drives, but below the level for the rest of the fans/radiators and the 5.25 bays. and is horizontally aligned
Motherboard mounting bracket will have 6x aluminum rods at the inside end (lined up to the screw-holes) to re-inforce it and hold it up. The rods lined up to the screwholes for the last three on a regular ATX board, plus the three more that are for eATX boards.
Side and Top panels:
Doesn't matter, a window on the top and sides would be nice, 140mm fan holes on the sides aligned near the top end of the PSUs and the I/O section of the motherboard would also be nice.
-------------------
And heres what I would like for myself:
Powdercoating and Accessories:
Blue. Gimme Blue. Blue Powdercoat and the Blue Acrylic for my top window and my 5.25 bays. Blue Power and HDD LEDs, anything you can make blue, make blue.
Anyways, I love what you guys are doing there and am looking forward to hearing your thoughts on this design.
so then everyone, input is mandatory! jk, but if you do bother to post in this thread, please keep it on-topic, don't just say "it sucks" or start flaming other peoples responses.
