Ok so basically everyday I come home searching for the perfect case. My idea of a perfect case was either a MM UFO, or SS TJ-07, but both were amazingly expensive, and not worth it, IMO.

Then I wanted the Stacker 830 and the Lian Li PC-A10. PC-A10 looked perfect, but I didn't like how the HDDs were cooled. One 120mm for two racks didn't seem ideal. Stacker 830 seemed nice, but still I wanted something a little more, and I really didn't want to spend over $200 on a case.

Next best choice was the Stacker STC-T01. It was nice, large, and perfect.

Ok so today I surf at the OCForums and someone recommended the NZXT Zero case to another guy who wanted a case. At first I really didn't want to click on the link to the NZXT case because I was never fond of the NZXT cases. I thought they were all bling and no performance; but wow was I wrong!!! Just look at the case!

Dual 120mm fans in the back!
51681

Four 120mm side panels fans like the Stacker 830!!!!
51682

Front of the case
51684

This case must be the steal of the century!!!!

I mean it comes with a total of seven 120mm fans!!!! (2 rear, 4 on the side, and 1 in front), and it comes with a top 80mm blowhole fan. And it doesn't skimp on the drive bays either; five 5.25 drives bays, two 3 1/2 external drive bays, and six internal 3 1/2 drive bays!!!

All this for $150:banana:; I'm just blown away. So tempted to get this case right now, but I'm trying to hold out for a review. More pics at Newegg (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16811146029).

So after seeing this, what do you guys think? Is it worth it to get it? I mean man this case is for the performance enthusiast.

Looks good, but where will the triple radiator go? :p:

Its going to be really noisy with five 120mm fans as intake and only two 120mm and 1 80mm as exhaust...too much positive air pressure. The front bezel looks like it might be too plastic looking. I would wait for a review.

Thats exactly what I was thinking!

What you could do tho is remove the sidefans and put a plexiglass peice there. But you cant do anything about the plastic front... unless you want to rip it off!

Also note there is a intake fan on the base of the case

Doesn't look anything speacial to me. NZXT arn't know for they're quality. The insides look like they're made from pressed steel as opposed to aluminium, and the exterior does nothing for me. Also the fact that it has seven 120mm fans is not a good thing, it simply means it is likely to be loud. In a well designed and thought out case you rarely need more than 2 120mm fans to keep things cool.

A mio black typhoon is around $62 shipped and should cool in a similar fashion, the aerocool extremengine3t will run you over $100. The enermax chakhra is somewhere in between. You shouls also look at this thread:

http://www.xtremesystems.org/forums/showthread.php?t=115520

the single best case for air cooling thread.

Check out the scythe case with 2 250mm fans or the antec nine hundred also...

Ok lets clear things up here.

I haven't seen people say "that's alot of noise" when someone with a Stacker 830 is running thier case with four side panel fans. Run a fan controller, or worst case scenario, take off the side panel fans. You still have the mesh, and you can always swap for other fans....

I've checked the other cases, and none of them are as spacious and come with all the stuff as the NZXT Zero.

I mean seven 120mm fans? That is unprecedented. Again you can run a fan controller, or swap out for better fans. The side fan mounts are still there

In a well designed and thought out case you rarely need more than 2 120mm fans to keep things cool.

You will need mroe fans when you are running an all air setup with Quad SLi and a hot overclocked CPU.

The only thing I'm worried about is the construction of the case.

Looks very cool from outside, but I prefer 2x 120mm as intake in front, with a little modding maybe that could be changed. Also looks like it doesn't have so many hdd spots for my need. 4x in the sidepanel is in my opinion a little overkill, better use 1x150mm or bigger fan instead or just simply use 1 or 2x120mm.

like 7x case fans would be noisy? nah, I got 9x case fans inside my case, 3x120, 3x92 and 2x80 and 1x60mm and every case fan seem to live quite fine up to their various silent rated dB levels of 16 - 22db. Also got a 10th silent 120mm fan outside the case cooling off my usb hdd. All fans are running at 12v.

Still it's A LOT quieter than my old comp was that only had 2x80 case fans and a cpu 80mm fan with aprox 40db noise. Remember, many silent case fans are more silent together than 1 loud fan. And slower rpm will provide a more "blowing" than that annoying whining noise of high rpm fans.

Well I sleep only like 1½m away from the comp and need to hear at least some noise of my comp or else I can't sleep. :p:

it looks pretty good but the 4 120's on the side don't look all that good to me.i really like the 2 120's on the back though and it would have been cool if you could have 2 120's in the front.

The greatest pc cases IMO are;

The LianLi Pc-201;
http://img183.imageshack.us/img183/1716/pc201bbf4.jpg

Most Soldam Windy cases(The super X10 being shown here);
http://img183.imageshack.us/img183/4558/dcbup7.jpg

Coolermaster ATCS Black Widow;
http://img183.imageshack.us/img183/9421/img3622resizehm2.jpg

As you can see, I like black cases.:) All of the cases above may not have hundreds of features, but are very solidly built with amazing build quality and attention to detail. Unfortuntely Soldam and ATCS are now out of bussiness, due to the mass market preferring cheap gaming cases with loads of pointless features.

Isn't LianLi Pc-201 a server case? - a little expensive at 250$ but looks nice in general ;)

Looks to be a great case internally and feature wise. Like the way the hard drive bays sit. Like the 4 side fans and the total number of fans. I personally don't like cases with doors on the front. Just a personal preference. Otherwise the case seems to be laid out nice.

I agree. In my v2000, I only have 1 120mm intake 1 120mm exhaust and everything is kept very cool :)

The internals are the same as the Lian Li v2000/v2100. Its basically the replacement for the v2100 with a new (Better looking) exterior.

Let's see...
- Cooling is adequate barely for 4HDs. (at the latest side input airflow takes away chances for more)
- Position of motherboard should be little higher so that you can wrap extra cables somewhere else than in front (looked from side) of it.
- Depth is too small, it's going to get cramped near motherboard.
- Attaching method of 5.25" devices doesn't work too well with short devices.

Considering those you could as well go for Chieftec BA/CA (http://www.pcgamma.com/showthread.php?t=7471) tower which is more spacious and considerably cheaper.

Windy cases are built supremely well. From the preople that have seen them first hand, I have heard that theyre build quality is better than anything else, including ATCS and Lian Li cases. The problem however is they they are built in Japan, and Windy never got a health and safety liscence(Or whatever documentation they needed) to sell the cases in the EU. Soldam Windy have now also gone bust, so it is and always will be Illegal to import or own one in the EU. Im not sure about the situation in the US though. I might have to end up getting on on the black market, or smuggle one in, on inside a petrol tank, lol.
