View Full Version : New CM stacker 830 case!!!

First up was the Stacker 830 that is brand new and still coming into the marketplace. This is a prototype modification to the case done by Cooler Master that adds more than few new features. One of them is the iPod dock on the top of the case.
CM also put a window along the top of the Stacker case to showcase the Western Digital Raptor X drive they placed underneath it. Now you could definitely show off your windowed hard drive with a window in your case specifically to see that window!

Same thing can be said about Lian Li cases. Its just a matter of taste when it comes to cases.

Looks nice but to much color lights for my taste.
About Lian-Li may I? - To Expensive for what they have to offer, for Europe was never a good alternative, we ussualy wan't more at that price (much more).
Same thing can be said about Lian Li cases. Its just a matter of taste when it comes to cases.
Erm, no, lian-li's are some of the best looking, best made cases ever, they dont need cheap features like ipod dock's to make up for a bad aspect of them.
But i agree it is a matter of taste, those who have some get a good looking (well made) case, those who dont have any buy thermaltake, nzxt and this 'thing'

agreed. its sad to see companies fall into the cheap quality, flashy L337z0rz product line. too many people are pulled into the bling like mosquitos and shiny blue lights. CM's cases keep getting fuglier and fuglier. but i still love my praetorian pac-t01ek

I think one of the reasons why LL and Silverstone came up in the world is because a lot of other companies started making ugly cases. Cooler Master made some SWEET cases back in the day. After the original wavemaster, I haven't seen anything that is nice and clean...
LL and SS were in the market at that time and made some nice looking towers with no lights, just clean and simple lines and nice materials... And it worked out pretty well for them.
To each his own, but I too like LLs and SS cases much better.

Well, I think the Stacker 830 is a very nice case. I guess that's why I bought one. I just don't like all the bling. Lian Li is just too much of an Apple copy to me. :)

It's allright I guess, but no gains of performance whatsoever there except for showing off your super expensive parts

Iliek the looks of the case, but really man a blowhole would be alot more useful than a hard drive on top....

fyi those clear raptors are $100 more than the normal metal ones

Ummm this isnt a real case......I'm fairly sure I read an article over 3 months ago about how this was just a stacker soemone modded, and that ipod dock isnt even connected.

Cm stacker 830 is an absolute pre-modded abomination.
I love my t01, the 830 was a total nose dive, it's a bunch of tacky plastic molding that serves no purpose.
I love simple cases that are well built, so I've always stuck to server cases, or lian-li for mid towers. I still think the best cases for me have been the pc-60/70 series form lian-li, the antec sx-1040, and my stacker t01.

What are you talking about? Me thinks the Stacker is an awesome case, that looks great and performs great.
Li-Lian cases are nice, but sometimes I like a little design in my case, and the Stacker 830 looks great, IMO.

Exactly, this just a display version of the black stacker 830 before it was released. I think most of us saw these pictures months ago.
The article is even dated June 6th:fact:

Lian Li cases are great, if you like brushed aluminum.
To me, it looks like a 1960's bus interior.

Reminds me of Thermal-cough-cough-choke. I nearly bought a Wavemaster at one point, but the internal layout of the PC-V1000 won me over in the end. I can't say I like any of CM's more recent models, infact the WM was the last one I liked. After owning a LL, I wouldn't buy anything of a lesser build quality for my PC. And a case like the V1100, which looks very monolithic and perhaps even slightly ugly in pictures, looks much better in the flesh. SS, LL and some of the older CM's (such as WM) have nice*, clean lines, no fuss, no rubbish and are well built to boot.
Oh, and by the way, not even my power button is plastic :)
*PC-777. WTF!!! How is it possible that LL thought this would be a good idea?

Aluminium is cheap. That why they make soda-pop cans out of it.
LoL. No matter the case, once you go over $50, you are paying far too much. I'm sorry, but case layout/etc doesn't do nothing for me...you pay for that? IT'S A CASE!! DO you put your stereo or TV in a custom case?:slap: C'Mon...:rolleyes:

This is a little dishearting for me . I thought the windowed raptor on the top was an orginal idea from me. Dam that hurts. I will just do a better job of it.
