I just downloaded the Battlefield 2142 Demo. When I enter the video options menu in the game and change the resolution to 1600x1200 the PSU seems to go all crazy with a red flashing light and a beeping sound.

The red flashing light with beeping sound in the manual indicates fan problem (fan speed less then 450 rpm).

This is weird because I only get this problem on the Battlefield 2142 Demo Video Options Menu (when changing the resolution to 1600x1200). All other games are fine I don’t get any problems.

Once I’ve changed the resolution in Battlefield 2142 Demo and go out of the video options the problem goes away???????? I can even play the game; its just the video option area this happens.

Any idea what this problem could be? the game? my power socket?

Thanks

Battlefield Demo Starts -> PSU starts to pump out more power due to load -> PSU Fan increases RPM -> you go to video options menu and PSU thinks there'll be less load so it reduces fan even though components inside are just as hot as when you were playing -> temp monitor goes off.

Solution ? Don't have the fan temps on a threshold...have it running at a certain speed all the time.

me and another user on here as well had a problem with the PSU mis reporting low RPM and beeping even though the fans are spinning perfectly. That problem seems very very common. Stupid enermax. For me it only beeped when I played cs 1.6.

Perk it only does it during very very few games. I could do absolutely anything else other than cs 1.6. Played games that require more load, less load, all the benches and it never beeped. I start playing cs 1.6 and it begins.

The PSU fan isn't on a threshold, it is the built in program that causes this. For me this problem only occurs on BF2142 "video option menu", i can play the game at 1600x1200 with no beeps etc. I have played 10 different games with no problems at all, is this a hardware fault that an RMA could fix? I have e-mailed Enermax, waiting for reply.

I read on another thread that you have RMA'ed your PSU, can you please let me know if the problem has been fixed once you get your PSU back.

Thanks
