I have harddrive from a computer plugged into another computer so that I can access files. I want to add files to the registry of the second harddrive but when I click on the files it just asks if I want to "add these files to the registry". I assume its going to just put them on the main harddrive with the running OS.

So how do I add the files to the registry of the second harddrive?

From my knowledge you can't, you can only edit settings from the main HDD (your own) - but a there is a solution to your query (diffrent solution), if you wan't to add settings from your own just go Start -> Run -> Regedit - and export those settings to an USB Stick, copy those settings to the others system and import the ones you need.

PS.Don't import all the settings becuase that system has a different configurtion and you could do some damage to it, only some Aplications (non Win) or personal settings related.
