Well we got a new-new logo!
I hope everyone likes it a bit more then the Mac one!

Aggressive italic boldface san-serif upper-case text
Extra-bold XS
Dashboard reminiscent of Spinal Tap (amps to 11)
Absence of the goofy & misleading Apple logo

Dislike:

Shake-up text effect looks like snowcaps?!
Dash may not legibly scale small

Could try a motion blur or warp effect or other impression of speed. I loved the flames, but maybe they were over the top.

What I would really like is a variation on that, start with blue then a real hot red as the needle hits max then a gradual cooling in colour until ice blue at the final s. I think that sums up the forum pretty well.
