While purchasing my ASUS P5B Deluxe and Intel Core2Duo E6700, 2.67Ghz@ 1066FSB, 4Mb Cache and Nvidia 7900 GTOC 256 Mb card, and a TT Big Typhoon 16 dba, 54.4 CFM 1300 rpm Thermaltake, an unknown person mentioned to check out the Xtreme Systems site. Well I have a lot to read on the forum to get up to speed, but I am curious about memory. I am considering Corsair 2Gb (to start) Duo 240 pin DDR2 but expensive. I plan on getting another Nvidia 7900 and bridge them and use digital outs. I already have two 500 Gb SATA II drives at 3Gb+. Next step is to get a good 600W power supply and an ATX box to stuff all into. As you can see I am slowly building a possible extreme system and wish to build my first extreme system the best way I can learn. Any and all suggestions, comments, guidance will be most welcomed.

I originally joined the forum about 90 days ago as JKramer but my registration
disappeared. I am now as JCompute. Just wanted to thank all who presented their knowledge and experience in helping me in the decisions to build my first exteme system. I went ahead and purchased Corsair twinX6400 2gb 800 Mhz ram. Working on the cooling checking out the thermalright HR-01 with options and maybe the Vapochill Extreme. Also still looking for the box to put it all in.
I know it will be an ATX but still looking....Again thanks to all of the extreme heads out therem your all heavy hitters.http://www.xtremesystems.org/forums/images/smilies/toast.gif

well there are quite a few good sticks out there
team group(xtreem)
crucial anniversary sticks r pretty good for the price
You get the best out of these 2 for the money you pay.
Of course there are alternative options but you gotta reach deeper in your pocket ;)

hey dude welcome to XS :)
since you are getting C2D E6700 i would suggest u to consider a 975 chipset mobo like asus P5W64 WS Pro or wait for the nvidia or ati chipset mobo.... they are pretty good...its kinda waste to pair a E6700 with a 965 chipset mobo...just my 2 cents :P

Just joining myself... going to be setting up my W/C stuff from petra's at the beginning of this week. Going to be overclocking this little guy once it is up and running. Not sure if this is a good one yet... let's hope.

I recently joined as well... putting together a Opt 165 system.. currently testing its max HT link speed... still got $800 worth of stuff to get for it even though I have the core components. Let's just say it will be... fancy.
