As I couldn't afford modding the actual unit or do it myself it may be slightly different to some of the l337er mods out there.

May be useful to other people in my situation though.

Very nice job there. :)

Personally I would have invested the money in something a little faster than AMD @ 2.7Gig, but that up to personal choice

I've already had that for a while before buying the mach 2. CPU/Mobo/Ram is next on the list

Nice job. How much work was involved ?

Nice job. How much work was involved ?

it took me a fair few weeks as I didn't have a lot of time to spend on it. It wouldn't take a lot of time if you can give it all your attention.

Making the psu back panel was the most fiddly and extending the wires etc was a PITA.

Removing the bits from the case just involved drilling the rivets (I think the newer versions of the case have the drive bays etc screwed in) although I had to use the rotozip to remove the front dust bracket. The unit wouldn't fit comfortably otherwise but obviously, if you have the brazing skill etc, you can shorten the length of the mach 2 unit so you can keep the filter.

However, it was my first proper mod and I didn't struggle too much. If you have cut alu and cases before it would be pretty easy.
