I suspect the board needs a BIOS update to support the 7950GX2. Am I going to have to purchase a PCI graphics card just so I can flash the BIOS???

I only have a USB floppy drive. I have tried the BIOS iFlash and Recovery methods....nothing works, just a blank screen. I was able to get the 3 beeps by removing my memory, so I know the board is alive.

Actually I think this is a problem with the graphics card and the board. I dont have the newest version of the BIOS that supports the 7950gx2. Therefore my screen is blank. How the heck am I supposed to flash blindly?

Can someone run iFlash from a diskette and tell me what prompts there are?

I had this same problem yesterday....and all I had to do was put the ram in different slots...but then again we have diff mobos...but it would not hurt to try yeah?:toast:

I tried every combo I could think of with the DIMM slots. No luck =/

I need someone with a D975XBX to use the iFlash floppy BIOS upgrade method and tell me if there are any prompts...

Like do I have to press Y for yes or ENTER, etc.

So I decided to do something I told myself, friends & family I would NEVER do!

....I went to CompUSA

...and bought a PCI graphics card (damn it even had CompUSA's name on the box...how gay and n00bish LOL)

I didnt want to wait for newegg to ship.

Guess what? I was able to flash the BIOS on my D975XBX rev 304 and now Im up and running! w00t!

I was starting to worry that I ruined my CPU when I lapped it...haha

Now you can take the card back. Tell them "It didn't work" and get your money back.

I had originally tried that, but it would not update on its own with 7950GX2 for some reason. Also, there was a prompt when i had the PCI card installed. I had to press a key in order for it to flash.
