View Full Version : Wow does this mean DS3 has the P5B deluxe style "strap"

Check out the description for F6 BIOS that came out today.

"Enhance Conroe E6300/E6400 overclock capability"

To me that means one thing: looser "strap" so low multipliers can go 500+ FSB.

has anybody checked this out. I always figured it was a matter of time before Giga caught up.

too bad i switch to badaxe cuz i have SLI, im doing 3.4GHz same as what i OC in DS3, however my RAM is 530MHz now vs 425Mhz b4 on DS3

Just wondering what your 530fsb on the BadAxe has to do with it.... If you're looking for "Bragging threads" rather than helping him out, let me know and I'll send ya a long list of places to post unrelated data....

now...
as best i can tell no... its nothing to do with the strap persay its just they tweaked things out a little to help the lower models overclock a bit better.

but what they did do in doing that is totally fubar my clocks when using a 8x multi....
no longer sable at 463 x 8.
but 412 x 9 is still 100% ok....

if you have the board and the cpu dont ask why,, just get to clocking ;)
