Hi guys
I just tried some overclocking on my DQ6
system:
Gigabyte DQ6 (f5)
E6400
2x1024MB CellShock DDR800
Leadtek 7950GX2
now my problem is, that i cant even set FSB266 in Bios.
As long i leave PCIe and FSB on Auto theres no problem at all, but as soon as i set FSB to 266 (non-auto) or pcie to 90-120 (no-auto) i just cant boot at all.
set fsb to 266->save&exit->see boot screen->restart :-/
so it shuts down directly after i can see bootscreen and starts up with fsb setting on AUTO again.
setting voltage, mem divider, mem timings and everything else except pcie and fsb is no problem at all.
i already tried bios f3, f4 and f5 but no difference at all...
if i oc in windows by using setFSB i can easily go up to fsb 400+, so i cant be the board, mem or cpu thats limiting me. mem easily does 500mhz+@2.3v.
anybody had the same problem and knows how to solve it? :-/

Dunno, but I have the DQ6 and I can set fsb to any value. There's
a 'enable/disable' option under the place where you type in the fsb.
If disabled, you can't set the fsb, it will default to 266 regardless of the value
you type.
On a related issue, there's a bug in the DQ6 as follows:
You can't finish POST at any fsb above about 379. If above this artificial cap, the board will hang right after mem test for a few seconds, then
reboot at 266 fsb. The fsb value at which this happens is a variable, but
seems always to be in the 329 to 379 range.

yes and if i enable it i cant even boot @ fsb266 ;) if i disable it i can boot without any problems.
fsb setting itself doesnt matter at all... tested 200, 266, 333 ... no difference at all...always the same problem.

So if it works perfectly when disabled, what's the problem?
Also, are you saying that you can complete POST and boot into windows at full speed, 400 fsb in your
case?

my problem is that as soon as i select any other fsb than AUTO i cant boot into windows ;)
so i cant boot with my cpu overclocked.
200, 266, 333, 400... doenst matter which value, i just can complete post ^^

You guys sure do have weired proiblems. make sure you disable ALL of the power saving fetures when setting anything manually.
check this out http://justoverclockit.com/main/modules/news/article.php?storyid=2
this is with the F5D bios but F5 works the same way for me.
