I should probably say that I "upgraded" from a PC P&C 510 deluxe. As soon as I changed PSUs I went and started stress testing my PC just to see that my vcore stability has gone down the drain from changing psus. Specs:

6700ES step 4 4100mhz(410x10)@1.575volts (bios) This is(was) orthos stable for a few hours
Corsair twinx pc6400 2x1gb
ATI 1900xtx as stock
Asus P5W DH deluxe
Chilly1 SS
4x74gig raptors in raid 0 (8meg cache ones)
Xfi Xtrememusic
Some cheapo LG dvd burner

With my previous PSU my vcore in windows would read 1.56 on idle and 1.55 on load which was just fine, but now I get 1.57idle and it drops as low at 1.53 fully loaded! Thats pretty ridiculous in my books and has probably made my 24/7 oc not as stable anymore. Just because of that I wouldn't recommed this psu to anyone.

I am also having problems with the stupid thing beeping at times with beeping codes that indicate the fans are mulfunctioning, whcih is pure bs because I can see both fans spinning at perfectly acceptible speeds and giving off a nice airflow from the back. Another reason I know the god damn beeping is bs because it ONLY does it when I play cs 1.6 and NO other game or benchmark. So pretty much as soon as I start playing cs the piece of horse crap starts b!tching once in a while about its fans that are actually working perfectly. According to the manual, any time it beeps the light in the back is supposed to turn red... well mine stays green. The beeping is quite loud and throws off my concentration.

The good part is that the warranty void if broken sticker is NOT EVEN COVERING ANYTHING. Its just next to the freaking crack so I can open my psu all I want without touching the sticker or voiding the warranty(good job enermax:rolleyes: ), and I am not gona feel bad about this at all because the product is pretty much pissing me off at this point. What I am thinking of doing is opening it up and looking for that damn speeker and taking the thing out of there or something.

Anyone have any idea whats wrong or a better solution?

RMA it?

I got two of those things and neither one is doing anything what you're saying all through my review. The only "problem" I had was the excessive ripple when the load was crossed.

this is the reason why i don't buy PSU's based on wattage ratings - the name enermax says it all - buy from reputable companies and PSU's with a proven track record

sorry if this is flaming, but just a warning for next time you choose a PSU

ps: for the price of the enermax 1000w, you could've gotten a Zippy PSL-6850P 850w with a 60a 12v rail and 1% line regulation - its a tested and proven PSU (plus I personally own the 700w PSL-6701P version)

the PSL-6850P is found here: http://store.myaopen.com/psl6850p.html (yes, its a reputable reseller)

and the PC P&C Silencer 750 (60a 12v rail, 3% line regulation) would be able to handle your system just fine as well: http://www.pcpowercooling.com/products/viewproduct.php?show=S75EPS (available in black upon request)

So the avatar matchs the post, eh? :D  w00t!

Anyways... Do you know how long Enermax has been around just making power supplies?

They've actually been manufacturing power supplies since 1991.

Sure, PCP&C has been around since 1985, but they've yet to manufacture anything.

Zippy has been around since 1983, but they were making KEYBOARDS. They didn't start making power supplies until 1993.

And what's with recommending a 750W and an 850W when the OP has a 1kW. I doubt the OP needs 1kW of power, but why not suggest a 1kW. ;)

Personally, I would rather have a solid 850W like the Etasis built Silverstone than any of the other PSU models we're throwing around in this thread, but I digress. The Enermax Galaxy is a fairly good unit and the OP is experiencing problems that are not typical of it (I have to assume since I've had two in my hands and haven't seen these kinds of problems.)

That said... has anyone seen the Enhance 1kW? The ENP-6610G is on the website, but no PDF and no additional pictures. :(

Intriguing rail distribution on that one - 12v@35A x2. There's another 1kW there with 18Ax4, and a couple 800W units.
