ERRR I really want a canterwood but want to wait for the IC7G...ive seen so many amazing results with the asus already though, 294,300,320!! GRRRR!! why why why...hurry abit, show us 350!! :D

i want to know about voltages before anything else. I mean 320mhz FSB is nice and all but none of us will get close to that with retail cpus.

Sure we will

P4 2.4C 12x300 = 3.6ghz It can be done :)

Thats the problem....

From what ive been told the asus board only allows up to 0.075v over default, and up to 0.3v under default (go figure). Mem voltage goes up to 2.8v, AGP voltage to 1.8v (higher than vcore?!). Plus theres the small problem that when you run over 133FSB it forces 2.5/7/3/3 timings (im sure wpcrset will be able to sort that, still a pain though).

Its a nice looking board, but imo will require too much fiddling to get the most from it.

As for the abit, im expecting 1.85vcore, 2.8vdimm and 1.8vAGP. No comment on modding the bios up to 3.2vdimm though - most Abit boards from the IT7 Max2 V2.0 and onwards have had a key resistor, cap and coil missing which makes the mod a right pain in the ass.

It pains me to say it, but Epox may be the one to look out for. The 4PEA+ was excellent (if unreliable - still major QC problems for Epox imo. The alliance with FIC should help that though) giving super fast memory performance and massive voltage adjustments.

If not the Epox, then soltek, leadtek and Iwill look to be doing some quite clever things. Dont forget that soltek screenie @ 294mhz FSB.

Personally I think running around 250mhz @ 1:! ratio will give better performance. Downclocking memory with dividers always adds in a crapload of latency.

Ill be picking up a 3.4gig 800Mhz chip when it hits and shooting for 17 x 250 personally.

Just wanted to note that from what my Soltek rep told me, Canterwood boards will not be coming out from them--at least for now, that's what he says he's hearing.

They do have a Springdale board though that has hit 1200mhz fsb.

epox for me, if it turns out good.

also, i could care less about vcore options a board has. has everybody forgotten about the voltage pin mods? it's really easy. i'm more worried about vdimm voltage, which is usually harder to mod.

are the new intels coming unlocked or are these just more engineering sample photos?

ES chips m8. I highly doubt if Intel will move back to an unlocked multiplier after what, 6 years?

At least the new 200fsb C chips have a low multi, just not low enough to capitalize.

Gigabyte's CenterWood based mobo is being sold in israel for low price (it's the board rev with no special features), I might give it a try.

I would like to point out that, thats a D-1 stepped p4. Look closely on the pic and u will see

I am not that impressed knowing it's just an ES chip.

basically, if I can't go out and buy one myself, and shoot for the same results, it's not really that interesting to want.
I doubt any locked CPU is gonna reach them numbers very easily.

now, if they were unlocked, that would be a different story altogether.

well a 2.4G/800 model OCed to 3840MHz is 320MHz FSB ;)

I saw this picture the other day. While they are impressive results, who cares. You won't be able to get a cpu like that and even then, it is being held back by the ram. Now if the ram were to run at that speed also, then I would be impressed even with the hand-picked cpu.
