Alrighty helping out my friend who is totally nooby @ computers sooo give him a break.

He has P4 2.8 Ghz, 1 gig of ram, ATI radeon X1300 (AGP), MSI PM8M2-V mobo and 300 watt PSU.... oh yeah almost forgot 1 SATA 200GB hard drive...

Is 300 enough to feed that and if yes then what else could crash his comp?

usually ends up with bluescreen:

IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL

*** STOP 0X000000D1 (0X00000008 0X00000002 0X00000001 0XAAE985E3)

I'd say so, but I think the amperage on the 12V rail is the more important figure for him.

I recently tested my system and used a KILL-A-WATT ($30) to check how many watts I was pulling from the wall.

Here's what I found:

My system would idle at 130W.

Dual prime drew 200W, S&M drew 216W, and AquaMark and 3DMark drew around 223W.

My setup contains the following:

2.66Ghz 805
2 x 512 MEM
2 x 74GB 16MB Raptors in Raid0
3 x 120mm fans and one 40mm fan
Geforce 6600GT
Rheobus
CDRW Drive
