Just changed from samsung pc2700 to twinmos pc3200 winbond. The samsung would hit 200 fsb but not stable so i got the twinmos ready for my xp1700 jiuhb i got on order. Now when I set the fsb to 200 on my kx7-333R i get strange characters on the bios screen (! + ?). Never use to get these with the samsung so why now? The system is stable (over 5hrs of vbr encoding using cce). If I drop the fsb to 193 the disappear.

Is this caused by my leadtek TI4200?

If so would adding a gcard waterblock to my cooling system help solve this prob?

Just remembered reading somewhere that the memory voltage and agp voltage r linked. I upped the memory voltage to 1.85 and it seems to have helped the problem. Is this voltage likely to damage my new memory even though I am using a thermaltake active mem cooler?

You mean 2.85v. And no, you should be prettymuch safe up until 3.2vmem or so, and possibly above that. Its not the mem I would worry about (as it should love 2.85vmem), its the agp controller itsself which burns out at 3.2+ apparently.

Its called AGP tearing - its caused by the AGP bus being too high - if you can lock theAGP bus speed to 66 then do so. If you have a KT400 chipset or the like then you cannot lock the AGP bus - when you are at 200FSB then you PCI bus will be 40Mhz (not 33) and your AGP will be 80Mhz (not 66).
