View Full Version : install old hard drive on new computer no reformat?

Is it possible to install the old hard drive on a new computer with no reformat? It will the main windows hard drive. what do i need to do to ensure everythhing works?

afaik not possible to have it working like the old system.

it is not even sure you will get to boot into windows depending on how different the new system is from the old one.

if you have important data on it be sure to safeguard and backup it first before trying this.

I heard windows repair from disc will work? Also if i put another hard drive thatr has windows on a sata but i just want to access that drive to copy files it would be ok?

win2k or XP only... hopefully you're not running 98, ME or 95 on that "old hardrive"
