View Full Version : smd capacitor value
I need to find out the value of some missing capacitor on a board. A customer of mine knocked a couple of capacitor off the board. I see the same type of capacitor around the board and I'm wondering how I can measure the value of those capacitor. Thanks.
Here's a picture:

The red outlines are the capacitor I'm missing. The capacitor missing is outline in blue.

You would need a Capacitance meter and remove the cap you want to measure as you wont get a reliable measurement with the capacitor on the board.
If I was to hazard a guess it will be around 10uf slightly larger than 1206 maybe 1210 case size as I have removed a few from one or two boards.

Right just removed it quickly its 10uf I don't know where you live but there shouldn't be any problems in getting some replacements.
You are looking for 10uF 1210 10% Get 16v as I don't know the exact voltage and there is no way it can be over 12v and 16v is the nearest.
Here are some links in the USA but they do ship internationally
