View Full Version : OZ members FYI-Lian Li (PC-626SCA) SPACIOUS, server case 'on special'
G'day fellow Aussies, I've seen this a couple of times and would love one for myself. Unfortunately, my Financial Controller (wifey) won't permit the expense at this time. :(
Anyway, www.pccasegear.com.au is selling off their stock of Lian Li PC-626SCA Server Cases. AUD 1,235 on sale for RRP AUD 500.
Perfect for a file server with 8 'hot swap' removable drive bays.
Check it out, here: http://www.pccasegear.com.au/prod3382.htm

I can't vouch for the case itself, but it certainly looks worthy of further consideration at its current 'discounted' price.
Cheers

I'd like to see some inside views of that case. thats looks like one hella nice server case. screams to be modded :D
I reckon too.
Just did some searching while I REBUILD MY FN MACHINE (dead/inaccessible): http://www.overclockers.com/articles475/ (slightly different version but you get the idea with all the 'interior' pics).
Schematic type pics: http://lib.store.yahoo.net/lib/xoxide/pc6261.jpg
It can't be very popular as there are surprising few reviews.

True, however, at the reduced price of AU$500 (from AU$1235) it's almost worth it with all those 'removable' drive bays. With the size of our drives and the amount of data we have these days, trying to manage backups can be a nightmare. I've adopted the approach that another disk is far more efficient and cost effective than 'writable' media like tapes, dvds, etc. (<AU$0.50 per Gig) For this reason, this case would work well for me in helping to accomplish this. My 5.25" removable drive bays cost around AU$50 each anyway.
You could cut away 4 of the eight bays and insert decent fans and have the four removable bays for hot swap backups and off-site storage and the like.
Nevertheless, I am not buying one ;)
