Not really a vmod but i post it here anyways... Thought it'd be the best place for my question.
Okay, so, i boot nicely into windows, 2D runs fine. But some 3D apps hangs up with artifacts. If i start 3DMark05 or Battlefield 2, it hangs up at once on a artifact screen. But older games like GTA: Vice City runs nice. This occoured when i was benching last weekend, so i did some 'errorsearching' today :D
I found a broken part on the back of one of the memory chips that i think is a resistor. It's on all the other chips and i checked it's resistance, it's 86 ohm. So i just wanted to ask you before i order a 86 ohm resistor and solder it on. Do you think this will fix my problem?
Couple of pics of the card:

Hi,
I am 99.99 % sure the missing component is ceramic capacitor not resistor. There are MANY similar components all over the card and several in connected parallel. (The resistance you have measured is due to leakage current of IC's, propably the VDD of the memory chips).
I do not know the exact value of missing capacitor, but I wonder the actual vaule is not critical:
- Voltage rating should not be greater problem since ceramics USUALLY have rating higher that 6.3 V
- Buy LARGEST CERAMIC capacitor value you get having the THE SAME PHYSICAL SIZE. I wonder the size code of the component is '0603', so the max capacitance you will get will be ~ 1uF ((there are capacitors with even higher value but very expensive, and NOT required here)
- Be carefully while soldering !!

BTW, why the capacitor is missing ? Is it possible something else has been broken ??

It strikes me as a much better idea to simply pop over to a few entusiast forums like this one, ask around for someone who has the same card (that'l probably take all of 5 minutes to find), then have them take a few highres pictures and a resistance measurement for you. Then youl know exactly what you need and can repair this easily.

I DO have this card and DO have high resolution images + played (dozens of) hours with this model => ****quite**** sure about the type of missing component. ONLY reason I put '99.99 % sure' was: never say never :D

Another point is resistance measurement of resistor connected to the PCB. There are allways other components connected to the same nodes, and therefore in general you never is possible to accurately measure resistance in card (of single component). (And in this case the missing component IS NOT even a resistor)

Okay, thanks for replying.
But the card has gotten really crazy now and i think it's quite dead. It's artifacting all the time, not only in 3D and i can't load windows before it hangs up. I think it's dead. Anyways i found out that this capacitor was connected to TP9 and TP10 (TP4 and TP1 too i guess, think they are connected). So i guess i could add a cap between TP10 and TP9.
But i ordered two new ones and i'll keep the one who works best/unlocks to 16x6vp, this card sucked. I just love them 6800LEs :p: This is my second one. Now i'm gonna beat that 3DMark05 WR.
I don't know how it fell off, but it has ben threated kinda..bad. Don't know how many 3DMark days i've had with it. But it prolly fell of when i was cleaning off some dielectric..
I think something else must have been broken too.
Forgot to say, i have soldered a 3300uF 10v cap between TP4 and TP1.
