haha yea that's a bottleneck alrite. I remember Fry's had a C2D system with some 7300 passive pci-e and I loaded Aquamark3 to test out the monitor it had display; it scored 7K total lol.. It looks like you are using this card as a hold over for a step-up, am I right?

I did a bench on my old p4 2.4ghz 768mb of ram with geforce mx440 32mb and sored 2067, and with my 2.0gz 2400 1gb of ram w/ same video card I scored 2074, woot woot, amd pwned it by 20 points lol, it was 3dmark01se though :P

My first system (pre-built) was a 2600+ Barton with 512MB RAM, and a 5600XT 256MB GFX, running it all on an ASRock K7S8X v3.0 mobo... got just over 7500 in 3dmark 01, with oc, and 2300 in 3dmark03 :D

E6600 (334x9 @ 3005), 7950GX2 (600/800 stock cooling)

I usually run the 7950GX2 at stock speeds as they do put out heaps of heat, turned the wick up just to run 3D Mark.

E6600 runs at 3ghz 24/7 @ 1.3v.

I've jus tdownloaded and run 3dMark2006 for the first time, scored 10,300. Was hoping for a little more, but not sure how it really compares. Here's my system:

Intel Core 2 Duo 6600 (x2 2.40Ghz) 1066mhz FSB/4MB Cache
600W Super Quiet Quad Rail PSU + 120mm fan & CPU Cooler (FSP)
512MB RADEON X1900XT PCI Express Crossfire (linked below)
512MB RADEON x1900XTX PCIE CROSSFIRE MASTERCARD
2048Mb Corsair RAM DDR2 333mhz
ASUS® P5W DH DELUXE: DDR2, x16 slot, 975X chipset, 2 PCI
320GB Western Digital HD (Sata 2) - master
80GB Maxtor HD - slave
Windows XP Home SP2

Temps are fine, CPU is 39C idle, 50-55C full load (Speedfan & Everest Home to monitor).

Any opinions on the system? I think the RAM is the letdown. I'm not overclocking yet, still reading up all about it etc here. I know there are quite a few options in the BIOS - Turbo mode, Manual Settings etc so when I'm confident I'll change them along with the voltages.

Also noticed since installing the Crossfire Mastercard my PC sometimes needs a reset before it'll boot to Windows (just hangs on black screen). Seems this "Cold Boot" problem is quite widespread!! Once it boots it's fine though, just doesn't like it the first time.

Anyway given my stock E6600 1900 CrossFire system would you say that the results are about right? Are there easy way to increase this without too much effort?

Overclock. Go into the BIOS on the CPU and raise the FSB. Use your drivers or ATITool to raise the speeds on the graphics card. Enjoy.
