I had a really nice and long post ready, but I had just rebuilt my computer and the an S-ATA cable wasn't properly pushed in and fell out while I was writing the post, and my computer froze. So I'm going to cut the the point, and just ask my one question..

In the picture below, what is the chip that I've drawn an arrow to? Most of the PCBs I've seen have the main chip, RAM chip, and then this 3rd chip. I am curious as to what it is.

Thank you in advance. :)

Much and once again much better picture.
Preferably such that numbers (you can't recognise) in those small SMD components would be visible, like in this shot (http://img111.imageshack.us/img111/3457/pict17775ey.jpg) of "overvoltage tested" ADSL-modem...

Also if you would tell exact model of HD we might be able to find better pics of it.
