could you post a sandra ram bandwidth please? 4000mhz and high fsbs would give great bandwidth in a nice granite bay board.

That entry means my score is relegated to page 2 :(

And with the winter being gone there isn't much I can do about it.

Wish I had a better paying job...

Im waiting on the 256mb version, hopefully itll be faster clock for clock, and clock higher than the 128mb version...good things come to those who wait :) im hoping waiting will make it easier for me to get high on the ORB :D

yes those sound impressive, but im gonna wait for at least the 9900 pro, seeing as i just bought a 9700 pro. by then the athlon 64 will be reasonable in price as well hehe

Got mine today too. Out of the box it did like 460ish/375ish. Mounted a P4 retail HSF on GPU and upped the voltages a bit and now it has made a 3DMark03 run at 502/396 (http://service.futuremark.com/compare?2k3=606424) so far. 100% aircooled :) Gotta try again soon.
Must break 7k w/ aircooled XP1700 and R9800Pro :D

The only thing Im worried about for the 256mb version is that as we all know higher density memory chips dont usually overclock as well as the lower density chips.

DDR1 has had a long time to mature as a build process though so hopefully I'll be wrong :).

Macci - gotta love those P4 retail heatsinks for gfx cooling ;). Been using them since the GF4 came out :D.

Using my R404 CPU cooler on GPU (the original R404 GPU cooler is still broken..) managed to run it at 549MHz core 405MHz mem. Got 7370 (http://service.futuremark.com/compare?2k3=611376)Marks w/ the little aircooled xp1700+8rda rig :D

The GPU cooling wasn't very optimal cos I had to add a thick (way too thick for this purpose) copperplate between the evap and GPU in order to make the thing fit there. So I think that it has some extra MHz left :)

Will put the card into the 4G+ P4 rig in the coming days and try to get a real score. Should give some 200-300Marks extra (GT1 is around 30-35FPS faster and 1FPS=7.3Marks..).

Less than 100Marks to go :D
7444 (http://service.futuremark.com/compare?2k3=611680) <-- still w/ aircooled 2470MHz XP1700 :D

JC, I bet you do :) These cards are awesome. Lets hope that you somehow get one cos its not fun to play all alone :D

I was to understand that the vgpu mod was the same as the r9700p, does that mean, the vddq, cddr, and vref mods are the same as well? Are the default voltages equal too?

Thought that I'd go and try to hit 7.5k w/ this XP1700 rig using my old waterchiller cooling on CPU and NB.
http://www.solidhardware.com/macci/pics/nestesailio.jpg
It has usually hit coolant temps of like -10..-15C and -20C if I'd let it run long enough without any load. Haven't used it in a while and wasn't sure if it would even work at all (it has been outdoors in the cold whole winter etc.). Added some more antifreeze to the tank and turned it on a while ago and just went to check the temps...-33C!! w00t! :D Pretty damn sweet temps considering that its some damn old R12 compressor w/ passive cooled condenser. Gotta set up some watercooling gear on this XP1700 thingy now. It might hit some pretty nice speeds :)

Change in plans...gotta do it w/ 1.6A :D

did some testin and found out that its just not possible to get enough points in GT1 w/ the XP1700 rig. So i'll try w/ 1.6A instead. and if that wont work its time unleash the 3.06Gigger =)

What do you guys recommend as a replacement heat sink/fan combo on the 9800 (air cooling)? I'm not really too happy with the stock ATI fan on mine (took it off today to clean and reapply the TIM - the damned molex connector is a §§§§§ to get off every single time).

Thanks for any advice on this. I was trying to look at some of my old sinks & fans this afternoon to see what would fit and nothing did!

I just don't think it's making good contact...it's got the spring push pins in it and to me, it doesn't press hard enough against the core for good heat transfer to the crappy sink.

Hmm now that I think about it the 290FPS Visionary got at only 3.3G seems a bit too good even for a Canter at 240FSB. But I could be wrong :)

Bought one Connect 3D 9800 Pro, seems a very good batch, can do 480 on core and 760 on mem - all with stock cooler and no vmod, or RamSinks :)
