Why do sticky comments appear at the top of every single page of their containing forum?

There are currently thirteen sticky comments in the Intel forum. These same thirteen comments clutter the tops of Page 2, Page 3, Page 4, every single one of the scores of pages in the forum.

To what end? If you've just slogged through the first seven pages, do you really still need to see the same thread about DS3 tips and tricks? Does this benefit anybody?

There is a vBulletin admin option to change this behavior. XS administrators, I respectfully ask that you do us all a favor and keep stickies on Page 1!

Yes that should be changed. Also, the fact that there are 13 of them and take up almost half the page makes it annoying as hell to see and most people probably don't even look at the titles before posting a question that is answered in the stickies.

I agree with you guys. I think it would be a good idea to have the stickys on the first page only .

Admin is constantly sifting through stickys to keep them thinned out. Nobody likes a page half full of stickys. The fact is it's hard to know when stickys are of no substantial value to members.

Bluebiker - welcome to XS:)

Are you sure there is a way to remove stickys from pages other than first?

If you know how to do it - please explain it to us.

Correct, Stickeys show up on all pages by deafult. eva2000 would know for sure how to remove from sub pages in a section.

Thanks! Been lurking for a while, collecting info for an imminent Conroe build.

I couldn't find it in the vBulletin Manual (http://www.vbulletin.com/docs/html), but this post (http://www.vbulletin.com/forum/showthread.php?t=59385) from 2002 says it can be done. Maybe a template or style mod similar to this one (http://www.vbulletin.org/forum/showthread.php?t=117944)? There's a technique for collapsible stickies (http://www.vbulletin.org/forum/showthread.php?t=103238) which might be an alternate solution.

I usually read the stickies before posting a thread because I reason that an "admin/mod stickied them for a reason" so it must be worth a read.

Every time??

Remember we're talking about leaving them on the first page of the forum. ;) so you'll still be able to read them all before you post a thread.:woot:

It's definitely possible - if the admin staff can't handle it out they should refer to vBulletin support forum.

Hope to hear "We'll work it out somehow." :)
