Hi,

I'm new here and I must say that I read A LOT of thread and they were all instructive to me.

I'm new in Ocing and (well I remember ocing my old celeron 300 mhz but hey, it changed a lot since then). So here is what I plan to buy right now.

P5B Deluxe, Core 2 Duo 6300, Tuniq Tower 120, Memory not sure yet

Those 3 parts are 100% sure and the memory I'm thinking and will see later

The thing I want to have your opinion is about the CASE/PS

You need to know that my goal is not to make the WR .. I only want to OC it at descent speed (if I can hit 3 GHZ I'll be happy).

So ... First I wanted an Antec P180 .. but I read alot and the Stacker 810 seems to be a good choice too .. I also read about the Stacker T01 (not sure .. this is the one with crossflow air or something like that) but can someone explain me what is crossflow air ?.

I don't want to pay over 150$ US for a case only and I saw that we can find some good case at that price so what you guys think ?

Last thing is the PS .. I think I will take an OCZ GamerXtreme 600W or 700W

Does anybody have something else cheaper with good quality ? .. is the 600 will be ok or better to take the 700 ?

I don't plan doing SLI and like I told you before I don't want to make the WR so

What you guys think about that

Ho I forgot : Is my P5B Deluxe and the big Tuniq Tower 120 will fit in a P180 or a Stacker 810 or T01

Thanks for helping me to choose and when I'm done with PS and CASE I'll only need to choose the memory and woohoo, let's build it :)

Waiting your opinion guys thanks again

Since you won't be going Crossfire, or SLI, this PSU will power up your rig just fine.

Juat don't expect the PSU to power up a high end X1900XTX Crossfire rig with an OCed Conroe, and 5 HDDs, etc.

A Tunique Tower and P5B-DLx will fit in a P180 (http://www.xtremesystems.org/forums/showthread.php?t=109990&page=2), but the Stacker will make a better case. The Stacker will fit all your stuff just fine.

A crossflow fan is a fan that only the Coolermaster Stacker STC-T01 accepts. This is what it looks like (http://www.pcconnection.com/ProductDetail?sku=6199840&SourceID=k22350). You mount it on the mobo tray and it brings cool air from the outside and into the case. Below is a pic of where you mount it.

Hey thanks a lot for all the information

I think I'll go with a Stacker since it seems to be a lot easier to work with the cables and all.

But, do you think it's better to have crossflow fan or to get 2 fans at the rear of the case ??? I think I'll be ok with the 810 but if the crossflow fan is a better thing I will take the other one.

Thanks again :)

Well the STC-01 is also a bit more versatile if you go WC, what with the option to mount the PSU on the top or bottom. However, both are great cases, so whichever suits your needs better.

I would go with the Stacker STC-T01. As Istasi said, it is versatile with WC, but also I read the crossflow fan does make a difference.

I would go with the Stacker STC-T01. It is ALOT cheaper, and more versatile, and can accept the Crossflow fan later on. You can get the Stacker STC-T01 for $150.00 shipped.

Hey :)

A lot cheaper ??

I can get the 810 for 9$ more than the STC-01 ... and I'm 110% sure I will never do WC ... I'm not interested in this so

I think I better like the 2 rear fan.

Anyway like you guys told both case will do the job well so :)

I think I'll go with that case

About the PS .. I don't know those PS at all, you sure they are good for OCing ?

Thanks

ZZF has the STC-T01 for $150.00 shipped. Newegg you have to pay 23 bucks for shipping.

The PS is fine for OCing.

Damn, I looked about that PS and can't seem to find it here in Canada

I don't know if you know another good PS.

I can get Antec easy, OCZ too ... but yeah they are a lot more expensive than the one you showed me

Anyway, if you have any other idea just let me know

Thank you

Another vote for the STC-T01... I love mine to bit's!

As for the PSU, you should be able to get hold of a FSP/Fortron Source/Sparkle (all the same thing) anywhere in the world.

Rock Solid PSU's, cheaper than the "Designer Names"
I run a FSP Bluestorm 500W in my stacker, powering X2-4200@2.6, 4x512MB, MSI Neo2 plat, 2x250GB+200GB+37GB Raptor, and a 5 of big-ass 190CFM Delta 120mm fan's, as well as misc other bits. Rails are spot on (checked with DMM) under load. and it was £20 cheaper then the nearest name brand PSU.

Same with Alaska power supplies. Antec's are always nice and stable, and so is hipro, Seasonic, Kingwin, and silverstone.
