To join our clan you must be 18 or older . The most important requirement to join is that u have a good attitude. New people coming in to the clan that are interested in competitive play will have to try out. We will be putting a system in place to assist us in checking your abilities, and to see if you are a team player. All members are also required to use Ventrilo (http://www.ventrilo.com/download.php) for communication. If you are interested in joining [cTx] please go to www.clanteamxtreme.com Thanks,[cTx]SGT.Viper

I talked to Viper on xfire and he claimed it was for legal reasons.....

That hasnt stopped any other clans from accepting minors, Im 16 and I run server for a clan.

That is one of the reasons. We have run this clan for all most 3 years and have had very little success with under 18. No offense but it really does not work out. Maybe it is because we are so old. :)

Thread highjackage!
(This really has nothing to do with anything except I felt like writing some conjecture about a topic I find interesting....
Yeah, you are not the first and I get that comment a lot.)

Likely it is multi fold.

One, many parents don't approve of the gaming clan culture. And the first time when little Johny can spread his wings is around the time of his senior year and high school graduation.

Two, many kids(mostly early teen and preteen) run inflexible time schedules where they have little control over their time. This is problematic for the running of a clan from an administrative stand point and from a "social" stand point. Hard to get to know the "new kid" when he is never on at the same time as you, eh?

Three, most "kids" are too :slap: for their own good oftentimes which rubs many older people the wrong way, as it should.

I was in a clan once where I was the oldest member and the only member who wasn't a minor. I don't want to go into it too much but there was lot's of thuggish behavior, drug use, and a seeming magnification of the general insanity (:slobber: :slap:) of youth. That is to say, all the above was greatly more prevalent than I was used to seeing or comfortable handling.

That said I have known some "good kids" since then that would be model members of a good clan in my opinion.
