P180B motherboard studs--unremovable?

About to put my P5B vanilla into my P180B and I noticed that the 9 motherboard studs on the back plate are a part of the backplate itself.. wtf? Wouldn't it be bad for the board to touch one of these studs where there isn't a screw hole? Wouldn't that leave the board vulneralbe to static shock?

Nevermind, the right edge of the board just falls short of the rightmost studs, though I don't like that since that whole side of the board is kind of hanging off and I'll end up bending the PCB when i push connectors in it.
