Hey, I finally got my system built. I had wanted a quiet system that I can sleep with on, but the power supply on this one (GameXstream 700W) is kinda loud. It's a high pitched noise. I held my finger in there, turned it on. And stopped the fan for like 4 seconds, then turned it off again. And the sound was gone.
Does anyone know if I'm able to put my own fan in there? Maybe a 120mm yate loon led? How would I do that?
Thanks

You'd need soldering skills, or some electrical tape. :)
Maybe you got a faulty fan though, my Dad's rig uses a 600w GameXStream and its dead silent. Anyway, I think SVC or Sidewinder sells PSU fans (with the appropriate connectors) so no soldering is needed.
Good luck ;)

Keep in mind once you open the PS you viod your warrenty :( ... but if it's silence you want you migh consider getting a Seasonic S12 600W and selling the OCZ

The fan on these is not supposed to be loud, is it running at full speed or something? How much air is exiting the back of the PSU?
Opening the unit will void your warranty.
