I am buying my new Conroe and I still don't know two things:
1.Which memory would be the best (performance + O/C)
2.Which Mobo:
-a)P5W64 WS Professional
-b)P5WDG2 WS Professional
-c)Heh dude, there is XXX to be released! Hold on!
Thank you for help!

I don't know how to edit the poll, so I'm adding here options I forgot about (both 2x1 GB DDR2 PC2-6400 800 MHz):
-OCZ PC Gold Gamer eXtreme XTC Serie (OCZ2G8001G)
-OCZ PC Platinum XTC Serie (OCZ2P8001G)

What about the Corsair TWIN2X2048-6400C3, 2048 MB. I heard that they are the best thing for RAM next to sliced bread. I don't have any experience with DDR2 because I still live with DDR(1) but this what I hear is the best memory you can get, it is very expensive though.

Heh, I've googled for them -> yeah, they are awesome. Timings 3-4-3-9... BUT... you know, 650$ is _quite_ expensive... If it was 450-500$ I would probably consider buying...
Btw, guys, is Corsair really better than OCZ ?
Please, don't be scared, feel free to vote in the poll ;-].

The new stuff from gskill kills all. I'm going to be replacing all Corsair 6400C4 with this stuff in the Intel/AMD "What To Buy Guides": http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16820231090
For $250, it has the same ICs as the DDR2 800 Cas 3 ram. The cas 3 DDR2 667 stuff from Teamgroup is also priced the same for the 2gb kit (It's $255 at TankGuys) and has the same timings. Pick one of those two based on which brand you prefer.
DO NOT buy an i975x mobo right now !!! The RS600 is coming out sooner than you think...stick with a cheap P965 board for now like this one: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16813135022 and hold out for a couple of months...if you REALLY have to buy something now...otherwise hold out entirely until the board comes...

Is that RS600 really going to be so good? Frankly speaking I don't like Ati and this ATi RS600 IGP is just a mobo with graphic chipset integrated... Unless I am blind searching in the Internet, this MB is not going to be anything special (comparing for example to Asus Prof + [later] G80)...
Taking that G.Skill ram (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16820231090)into consideration -   . But I really would like my DDRs to be 800Mhz :( .

Waaaait... there is 800MHz 3-4-3-8 2x1GB (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16820231089) for $470... ^^. :toast:
Wait for the NForce 590 bords to hit the market, supposed to be really good.

I thought about that but somebody told me that "Intel knows better how to make a good chipset for his proc"... But I will probably wait some time to see if that's true. And if NOT 590, which MB would you choose? AFAIK P5W64 WS and P5WDG2 WS are both best atm, but which of them you would buy?
And coming back to DDR2 -> C3 are really awesome (both G.Skill and Corsair) but the price for 800Mhz... I checked that in my country -> it isn't even near $470...

TherielMore chance ddr2 667 cas 3 will go to ddr2 800 cas 3 than ddr2 800 cas 4 will go ddr2 800 cas 3.

feature wise they are king.
OVERCLOCK WISE THEY BLOW BIG TIME. nvidia just can't make good MCs... don't expect more than 350FSB tops, with everythign modded tweeked etc.
read the reviews...
and it is rD600, not rS600 his finger slipped. it is speculated to be truely insane
400+ FSB with comparative ease

Thank you for correction - now, google gave me much more interesting results ;-]. But still... reading http://www.ocworkbench.com/2006/ati/rd600/g1.htm I found rD600 quite similar OC wise to 975x. Any info about the date of release?
And one more question -> If you bought MB with over 1000Mhz memory support (like rd600), would you take:
-667 CL3 and OC to 800 CL3
-800 CL4 and OC to 1000 CL4
-1000 CL5
(don't write take 800 CL3 and OC to 1000 CL3 - too expensive)

Greetings,
TherielOne sentence defines how you select ram:
"The cheapest good ram that fits your budget" - so just find the cheapest good ram and stick with it. I'm sure you have preferences as to brand...go with those if you're still undecided.

The solutions I've given are very similar price-wise, that's why I am asking ;-]. I just don't know what is more important - timings or Mhz? And thanks to the poll I confirmed my opinion, that Corsair would be one of the best brands.
P.S. I'm sorry if you found my questions and doubts too noobie/obvious.
Greetings and thx for your votes,
