nice price i had expected it to go 250.
i hope it wont be much higher in europe.

but 200 is stilt o much for me for a motherboard.
If id go AM2 id wait for DFIs 570 motherboard and see how wel that one clocks.

It's gonna be Conroe, r an easy CPU upgrade with 939.

I do. Does anybody care about their grammar? ;-)

Great price, glad to see it didn't launch for much higher as expected.

What exactly do you think grammar is ?

I don't give a dancing banana about grammar...I want someone to grab one and give some D9 3v.

I saw this board at Fry's in Sunnyvale, CA yesterday... thought about buying it and a X2 5000 cpu.. lol. the mobo was $249 and the cpu $399. Great price on the cpu.. anyways.. nice board. looks like a variation of the "expert" layout. best slot placement of any mobo imo!

DFI.. when can you move that chipset elsewhere lol, in the way of 2nd gfx if using silencer.

It looks low profile, it shouldn't touch it at all even with a silencer mounted. Regardless DFI picks the most weird locations to put a NB.

Very nice, all we need is non sli and i'm done.

It's not like you have to use SLI if you buy it lol....

Why do you need a heatsink big enough to cool an OCed Pentium M on your northbridge

Thrilla

It's quiet, powerful, has a heatpipe, and I keep everything under 40'C :P

Thrilla all your jumpers are in the top positions in that pic... that means the bottom slot is running in 2x mode?!

Thrilla

The 6 jumper banks between PCI-Ex slots are for SLi, if all set to the top, it's running on single GFX, if all set to bottom, it's running SLi with 2 GFX.

those jumpers re arange the PCI-E lanes.

The 6 jumper banks between PCI-Ex slots are for SLi, if all set to the top, it's running on single GFX, if all set to bottom, it's running SLi with 2 GFX.

The banks rearrange the PEG slot link widths to facilitate efficient SLI, not to enable SLI itself :)

In the top position, they set the top PEG slot to 16x and the lower slot to 2x. When at the bottom, it sets both slots to 8x. So as you have the jumpers in that pic, your graphics card is running in a PCI-E 2x slot, which I imagine hampers it a lot!

Try running 3DMark before and after changing the jumper positions... ;)

 are you serious? lol never knew that, but I'm not seeing any difference when playing css :D

How do I make the 2nd slot 16x then?

Revv23

no thats wrong, with jumpers set like thrilla's one pci-e slot is 16x and the other is 2x, whichever one has primary GPU is the 16x, you can see in bios, it doesnt matter one bit.

When you flip the jumpers it makes both slots 8x.

Alright, at stock with 6600gt I get 190fps average in ATi Tool, sounds normal to me.

Negative.

I've already tried this on my board, with the jumpers set up, nVidia CP clearly identifies the slot as 2x. RTFM for more info.

Thrilla, try running 3DMark dude, that will probably show the difference more :) [edit] Although with just a 6600GT I imagine it won't make a huuuge difference like it did with my 7900GT!

I see no difference at the moment lol, I'll call DFI on Tuesday see if they're any help.

Well i dunno maybe its bios specific but when i switch card slots on my board it identifies the slot with the card in it as 16x.

like i said, when you flip the jumper, it makes both slots 8x, so flipping them would lower performance.

Sumanji

I don't see how it could be as it's a direct hardware level change... not like the Asus A8N-SLI Premium and DFI Expert where the PEG link width can be changed from the BIOS... when you say "your board identifies the slot as 16x", do you mean in the BIOS, in nVidia CP or in CPU-Z? Or in some other app?

bios.

you may be right, i didnt check with anytrhing else, i didnt notice any performance difference, im in top slot now though.
