View Full Version : Corruption in the forum?

I made a thread asking why pcguru was banned in here and the thread was deleted with no PM or anything!
I never saw him do anything wrong, and now my post was deleted when I asked about it. I want to know whats going on. Admin corruption is something I really won't tollerate... They're the one's who are supposed to be setting a good example, and treating people fairly. If that slips, then things can gradually get worse for the whole forum. I love XS too much to see that happen. :(

He violated the rules, the staff was keeping the site clean as we dont need garbage threads attacking the myself and staff.
Decisions are usually not made by single staff alone, most topics are kicked around before being acted upon. This is usually done before banning.
The staff is also instructed to remove any content not suitable for this tech forum. We are not being tyrant dictators, we are keeping the site clean of unwanted content.
Are you friends of pcguru?

I don't see any need whatsoever to open any "Why was soandso banned" thread in a public forum. If it's really that important to you (or anyone,) you should probably PM a mod instead. I don't think it's anyone's business except for those who were involved. Just my $.02.

Your friend started a thread saying he hated Fugger, and asked others to raise their hands if they also hated him.
All of staff here at XS think very highly of Fugger. Each and everyone of us would ban someone starting this type of "Hate" thread. We don't tolerate it.
There is no corruption going on here. :nono: I would hate to see any one leave and go else where because they thought such a thing.:(

hehe, was increadibly funny though, probaly the easiest way to get eliminated :D
But actually, I dont think it would be any different if it was another person, might take a half an hour longer... But making a "I hate mistersomething" thread is just plain stupid.
- Futhermore, I think its great that examples are being made, its no secret that the entire conroe mess has made alot of new members, and its very important not to let people think that on XS you just talk s.h.i.t about other people..
EDIT:
Agree with NEWeng, no reason for this thread..

I saw this thread this am but was running late so I didn't reply, now I will.
I came here last November and found a great community.
Lots of good people and lots of guys that would share anything they knew with you and asked for nothing for that information.
Yea, there were a few that seemed to be just into yanking someones chain or busting some new guys balls but most were real decent.
I met a few of the staff and found out that if you asked a question politely, you got 10 times that back.
Then I met Fugger and not what I expected at all. Not all business and "too busy to talk to you"..Just the opposite..
You guys know I'm into the DC end of this forum. One night I posted that I was looking for some RDRAM for a couple IBM intellistations that I'd grabbed cheap to crunch for the team. Five minutes later there's a post from Charles that he has 4 sticks for me and a few days later there at my house..
Wouldn't take $$ for them at all and it was close to $600.00 for that ram..
He was just trying to help out. That is Charles and every thing I've learned about him since then has made me feel that way only more so.
I talked with him the other night on the phone and I get a sharp, smart guy that listens and doesn't pre-judge issues.
Now maybe you can understand why one of the admins would ban this guy.
If I had the authority and saw that same post I'd do it too.

I didn't say he was a friend.... I've never seen him before. I just noticed he asked for help choosing parts for a system, and I was glad to help. :) Then the next day he was banned... I never saw any threads where he attacked anyone. Link me? Then I ask why he was banned, and my thread is deleted with no PM or anything. I had a lot of reason to be suspicious. Sorry. Didn't mean to cause a problem or anything. :( Just looking out for people. Thats all. :)

The thread was removed just after it was posted and we will not repost it.

I agree with this in most cases. When someone highly respected (aka OPB or Mickeymouse) was banned, the creation of a thread was basically inevitable. If one day Fugger said he banned coolaler, most people would want answers. But for the most part, I agree with you.

Not really related to this thread, but that's a great story! I love the people here at XS! :toast:
