I've been running PCPower&Cooling, Fortrons, and OCZ PS and they're all just too loud for my current setup... :) :) (the box is sitting right next to me)

Of course one solution is move the box, but not my first choice. Currently I'm using the OCZ Gamer 700, can anyone recommend a quality high output product (600+ / P5B-Deluxe &E6600) that is relatively quiet? :D

Thanx-

2nded the seasonic....

Out of the case, I can just hear a sort of quiet hum, in the case, can barely hear it (at idle). Slightly ramps up @ load, but not much).

Why don't you just modify the one you already have with a better fan? It's not that big of a deal. It's actually a pretty quick and easy procedure.

I guess then you should look toward Seasonics which are kept by many as one of the most silent "fanned" PSUs.

Also Seasonic has just released new models with four 12V rails and more power available from 12V than in earlier S12 models.
S12 "Energy Plus" models are with fixed cables and 550W and 650W power ratings, M12 serie is with modular cables (PCIes and peripherals) and includes 500, 600 and 700W models.

New models are available in Europe but apparently those won't be available in US for couple weeks. (that's why putting at least country into profile would help)

With high end components (like top end GPUs, maybe except ATIs which exhaust hot air out of case) such PSU definitely causes need to increase other case cooling so I don't know would result be really more silent.
(I wonder also why they don't have PFC in other than EU model)

Seconded, I've swapped fans in different PSUs many times. While it does change the characteristics slightly it doesn't do anything detrimental. Some PSUs are nice enough to have a regular 3pin fan header on the PCB, pop open one and take a look.

Seasonic S12-Energy+ 650W (80PLUS cert.) is probably your best bet (considering your current choice of PSU:s). If that's too low wattage for your taste, the Seasonic M12-700W is another option.

Check out http://www.silentpcreview.com/ probably your best resource for quiet computing. In your case, pay attention to their PSU guide: http://www.silentpcreview.com/article28-page6.html

Their forums (http://forums.silentpcreview.com/), and the PSU section (http://forums.silentpcreview.com/viewforum.php?f=6) specifically, would probably be a great place to ask. But 99% would simply suggest either the Seasonic S12-380 or S12-430. (Unless you run some extreme SLI/CF, in addition to extreme oc'ing, in which case you should consider one of the more powerful S12 PSU:s, the 500, 550, 600 and 650, perhaps even the aforementioned M12-700 watt , whichever you think is enough.)

There are other brands, such as NesteQ (used to go under the name Elenvital). However, PSU:s such as these aren't as thouroughly tested and there isn't much experience with them at all within the quiet computing community, so it's a bit of gambling. I'd definitely settle for a Seasonic.

Good luck!

Love my enermax liberty 500w (they do do a 620w as well) and love it lots as its powerful, modular and dead silent. I really can't hear it at full pelt....
