Here's what I had in mind:

Asus P5B Deluxe (because of high reachable fsb)
E6400
Teamgroup Xtreem pc6400 CAS 4 (I think this is the safest option for C2D and this motherboard correct?)
Big Typhoon (not sure about this one, used it with AMD and it was very good)

S12 Seasonic 600w
X1900GT
Raptor 150
WD 320
Antec P180

I'm shooting for a 8*400 = 3.2Ghz

Are there any suggestions, improvements or criticism you can give me? Is that overclock that I'm wanting realistic?

Thanks all

For cooler, get the Thermalright SI-128. Everything else seems fine as long as you invest in a vf-700/900 for the X1900GT.

Plus you don't need to spend ~$150 for the seasonic. The Corsair 520hx at atacom for $117 should handle that rig with oced GT and 3.2ghz cd just fine: http://www.atacom.com/program/print_html_new.cgi?cart_id=5611877_69_194_146_36&Pagecode=SEARCH_ALL&Item_code=POWS_CORS_HX_52&USER_ID=www

However, I will advise you that the performance difference will not be as much over the 7800GT and I'd recommend keeping that and getting a DX10 card down the road.

If a C2D can have an X850 reach 50k in 01, it can do wonders with the 7800GT you already have.

Thanks Perkam, I'll go with your suggestion on the Vf-700 or 900 and have a good look at the Thermalright.

I already got the Seasonic for cheap from a friend.

Is there a way you could trade the S12 for a M12 over there? Like is it still in packaging, etc, cause that would be the better option if its open.

Don't worry about your Seasonic . its great PS and don't need to be upgraded to the M12. Go with the VF900 for the GPU cooler the 700 just isn't good enough for x1900 family of cards. Lastly, the Teamgroup Xtreem pc6400 CAS 4 might be a bit overkill, you could probably get Cas 5 based ram and never notice the the difference, besides saving yourself some $.

Just a cautionary note. - With the P180 and the Seasonic, you might need an extenter cable for the 4pin power connector .. this depends on which S12 you got (the newest ones do have a long enough cable).

The Thermalright is not for sale here, I'm thinking of any of the Scythe family because it of the fans on the side of the HS it's kind of a push-pull config with that case. Scythe Infinity?

Edit: no the Ninja would be better
