Found this interesting!
Well, you will be happy to know that Ubuntu does iPods, even Nanos. You will also be happy to know that using your iPod on your Ubuntu system is quite easy. All you have to do is plug your iPod into one of your computer's USB ports, after which Ubuntu will automatically mount it and place an iPod icon on your desktop

What's holding other distros back from this? Ubuntu specific seems kind of odd to me.

Yep and Ubuntu seems to be more concerned about porting it around than they are perfecting the security

and the likely hood of an attack ona small OS which .1% of people use is?
then again I'm suwe half of that .1% all goes here... heh linux discs have saved my ass in the past and they will continue to do so...

Does this apply to Kubuntu too?
oh =/ i thought you could load an unbuntu distro onto the ipod. creative ftw, ipods are crapola.

Take into consideration how large of a number that .1% is. Ubuntu is one of the most popular distros out there right now, so any security risk is a big one.
I have yet to understand why this distro is so popular. First, they had a bug where the system password were stored in plain text, and then a simple update killed X. Marketing ftw.
