Ok so I have a Samsung 120 gig SATA drive which has been my primary for my XP install and data since last June. I just bought a Seagate 320 gig SATA that I got for the upcoming school year for storage.

So. I'd like to set up some dual boot action off of the smaller drive.

Let's say I want XP, XSOS and 2 extra partitions for Linux and maybe DOS or something.

a.) Whats the best way to go about this?

b.) When making partitions, for XP do I have to include the size of programs in the partion. For example XP needs like 1.3 gigs for an install, do I need to add more space for Photoshop and half a dozen games or can I install them on the second drive or on the data portion of the small drive.

:fact:

Use Partition Magic 8 or higher and make the partitions. Here is what I would do.
On the 320gig I would run Windowz on 1/2 and Vista on the other 160g to play with.

On the 80 I would do ....
1. 20gig's NTFS for windowz back up (not that windowz crashes and ruins everything you just worked 2 weeks on:slap: )
2. 20gigs of Linux
3. 20gigs for FreeBSD or OsX86 or DoS lol dos, there is a blast from the past.
4. 1 gig for linux swap space
5. Still 19gigs for What ever XSoS ect.
Use lilo as the boot loader and make sure windowz is the first on as Lilo uses the BMR were Bill hides his stash.:stick:
