I've searched around and havn't found any answers. Probley because it's 1am, i'm tired and didn't notice lol. If thats true sorry :(

But I was wondering, I'm going to purchase a Geforce 7950gx2 video card. I was thinking of the XFX OCed one here (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16814150160) but I saw the eVGA one here (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16814130023) for $47 cheaper that is not OCed.

Now my question is, is the extra 20mhz on the core clock, and the 100 mhz on the memory clock noticeable in realtime gaming? Or even worth the extra $47? I don't plan to overclock video card at all why I was considering the XFX. But if it's not even noticeable then I would go with eVGA.

On brand new video cards like that no it isnt noticable. On older cards like mine in newer games yes it is.

It can mean the diff of 10FPS or more depending how much the card is overclocked. Honestly for $50 i would just buy the regualr one then when you need to down the road just overclock it youreself.

25mhz on the core and 100mhz on memory is not much of an overclock. Now 100MHZ on the core and 200-300+ on the memory on a video card is where you will notice the speed diff but only in older cards.

You wont need to overclock 2x cards like that in sli for years. You'll be getting so much FPS with youre detials to the max and the AA/AF turned up all the way that itll probly be 2-3 years before you even notice a slowdown. Thats how long it took for my card.

EDIT: i did notice when looking @ both that the $47 one is actually both cards overclocked. I thought it was each card for $40 more. Honestly if youre rich ID get the XFX, but again you wont even notice it for along time. Up to you. Btw you get a free game with the cheaper one :P

Alright thanks :) Looks like i'm gonna go eVGA. The $47 I save will help with a razer mouse :)

Noticeable? Not a chance.
