EA claims a 30-50% failure rate among systems????

Making it funnier, Dead Rising has been shown to kill systems completely!

PC enthusiast site Ars Technica, for example, writes, "Dead Rising is making zombies of 360 systems. This game killed my system last night; thankfully, I have a one-year product replacement plan so I already have a replacement, and apparently the demo did the same thing to another member of our forums. This could simply be coincidence, but as always make sure your 360 is well ventilated and nothing is blocking the vents. This game seems to put the hardware through its paces." The G4 message boards and other gaming forums contain similar stories from their members.

haha thats great, 360 has good graphics but lacks the cooling to support them -_-

i know that the failure rate at the start was very high due to the poor cooling.

but i thought MS fixed that?

if failure rate is stil so high im shure people on XS should eb able to confirm that as i think quite a few here own an xbox360?

If the failure rate was 30-50% there would be two things happening..

1. A massive recall. A 10% failure rate is insanely high and would call for a recall, muchless a 50% failure rate...

2. It would be international news.

With those two facts in mind, it is impossible for the x360 to have a 30-50% failure rate..

The real question is why in the world would EA try to tarnish MS's reputation.. Without microsoft EA would be in the hole right now... If anyone has noticed a gigantic portion of EA's products only run on Microsoft hardware/software.

Yesterday we were tipped off by an employee of a major publisher who claimed that the Xbox 360 failure rate—at least within his studio—
It is an employee, not EA. And it is within his studio, he doesn't have the real failure rate's.

That doesn't seem to stop devs from jumping ship from PS3 to develop for 360 ?

I've already replaced my 360 once, and what sucks is I never bought the 2 year warranty from MS so if it happens again I be screwed. I'm not really worried tho............

Maybe ill still send in for that warranty and see if I can get it, and then wait for a 80 nm revision or something to come out.

Not that I would ever buy a console, but the 2 (5 if it's "supposed" to last considerably longer than 2) - year warranty that Norwegian resellers are required by law to maintain on products like this sure comes in handy in these situations.

damn just spend a minut to replky and the power goes :/

anyway.
I guess that Dead Rising is the first game to fully load all the CPUs and GPu and that the cooling cant handle the heat (all saw the poor cooling).

i wonder what will be the official response to this form MS etc.
And if my idea is right i wonder what will happen when Gears of war and other games hit the shelves. if my idea of heat is right this could end up costing MS alot

They should have just made the thing a bit larger and put in larger fans as well as larger heatsinks... but ohwell...

Dunno about killing, freezing would probably be a more accurate word.

My roomate has the game and every so often(well, too often, like every gaming session) it was freezing and showing the three red lights indicating a hardware failure, but the hardware was fine as it would boot fine when he'd restart it. It's the only game that's done it, but he apparently tracked down the problem to the 3rd party intercooler he had as it would seemingly die when it would up the fan speed or something. Either way, the game has run fine for him since he got rid of the intercooler.

As much as I loathe koolance, that is pretty cool.. But for 360 dollars, it is the same price as the X360.....
