Found some interesting tid bits on the interweb today:
Dark Messiah of Might & Magic Open Beta Today
SAN FRANCISCO- August 28th, 2006 – Today Ubisoft, one of the world’s largest video game publishers, announced that the Dark Messiah of Might and Magic™ multiplayer open beta will begin on Tuesday, August 29 at 9 a.m. (PDT), with details available on the official Might & Magic® website at www.mightandmagic.com.
Developed by a seasoned team at Kuju Entertainment, the open beta gives players a first taste of the revolutionary Crusade mode on the human map of Vradeck’s Crossing. The open beta also includes all character classes, skills, weapons and spells for a genuine multiplayer experience. Approximately 100,000 players will be able to participate in this final test before the release of Dark Messiah of Might and Magic.
UT2007 Demo Plans + Info on Retail Maps
Epic Games Forums (thanks Beyond Unreal and Voodoo Extreme) offers word from Epic's Steve Polge on plans to release a demo for Unreal Tournament 2007 prior to the retail release of their coming shooter sequel, along with an idea about how many maps will be included in the final product:
We currently have well over 40 maps in development. Some of those may be cut, but you should expect UT 2007 to ship with a comparable number of maps to past UT releases (UT2004, which had two games worth of maps excepted).
We are definitely planning to release a demo long enough before we go gold to be able to incorporate feedback from the demo into our final release.
Warhammer 40K: Dawn of War - Dark Crusade Demo Plans
FilePlanet announces plans to debut the playable demo for Warhammer 40,000: Dawn of War - Dark Crusade on Friday, September 1. There are no details on exactly what the sample of Relic's coming science fiction RTS expansion will offer, but they are running a video card giveaway in conjunction with the news.
All headlines ripped straight from one of my fav sites:
