Hi Guys
I love the site it's very helpful in buying the right parts to overclock with.
Also I'm from Australia and I came across this nice american made memory PDC22G5300LLK Patriot 2GB 2 x 1GB from newegg.com.
These look like very good overclocking memory for the price.
I was wondering if any of you guys know what site I'd be able to purchase this from that ship international?
I want to reach 3.2GHZ with the E6400 and I need pretty good memory to get myself there.
Here's what I have so far in my upgrade:
E6400 Allendale chip
DFI 975X or a ASUS P5B non deluxe board
That PDC22G5300LLK Patriot 2GB 2 x 1GB if I can get it
Antec P180 case
Geforce 7900GT
300gig SATA2 Seagate drive
Antec 480watt PSU
thank's for reading my post, I look forward to reading your comments.
:)

e6400 needs 400 fsb to reach 3.2, so youll need some pc2-6400(DDR2-800) ram to get there. there are plenty of kits rated at that, or search for the many threads about overclocking slower stuff. Team Xtreme 667 seems to be the weapon of choice lately.
I like gskill ram, though ive heard of some posting issues with 965 boards, dunno about the 975s.
if you plan on going to watercooling, the p180 will be a pain later on.

Yes, I agree. Get 800 MHz memory. I regret getting 667 memory, now. My board and CPU OC very well but I'm being held back by my memory. 800 MHz or higher.
Also, that Antec supply isn't the neoHE is it? There have been problems reported with that supply and several MBs. Beware!

DDR2 prices increase recently maybe due to C2D released? hehe XTreem is very good overclocking ram but I wouldn't recommended due to the price increases so get some cheap DDR2 800Mhz and wait for awhile, you'll see some price dropping very soon due to higher bandwidth ram releases, you can get G.Skill DDR2 800Mhz 2GB for $125 at Newegg, hard to beat for now!!!

Thanks for responding guys, I'll get the Deluxe version then hehe :)
Also that memory I spoke of earlier sounds pretty good, http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16820220095
It reaching 900MHZ np people have been saying on some forums, As long as I can get 3GHZ out of my E6400 I'm happy little camper :).

If you guys think this is no good memory, what do you guys suggest for same price I can get that does at least 900MHZ?

the memory is fine it uses the same micron d9 as the teamgroup ddr2-667 3-3-3-8 memory at tankguys.biz

i would stick with the patriot PDC22G5300LLK 2GB. For some reasons these are very good for a pc6400. I was able to get to 900mhz on stock voltage (5-5-5-12) --> if you up the voltage you can do 900mhz 4-4-4-12 or 1000mhz 5-5-5-12. In fact what's limiting me right now is the DS3 motherboard's FSB. I have tested this and this RAM can go to 1000mhz without flinching. I don't know why these patriot ram are so good but they just are.
I purchased the g.skill hz ram before this because of all the hype but i did a side by side test run and the g.skill would not post at anything above 930mhz (with voltage being equal at 2.0, 1.9, etc and all). Save some money and go for the patriot. There is also a $20 rebate too.

Hi
Yeah they do sound very good,I found a trusted ebayer that ships oversea's that can sell for 190US plus 15 shipping.
I've bought the Patriot 2GB (2 x 1GB) 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM Unbuffered DDR2 667 PC2 5300.
I just want to hit 3GHZ with the E6400 and I'm happy.
Cheers

the ram kicks ass, don't listen to the people that don't know about it... EASY easy easy overclock to 800 on 1.8v, meaning you can take it further with more...

Great stuff glad to hear someone else has this memory and is having success :).
Can't wait to get these sims, I play a lot of games that wants lots of memory and fast CPU.
Battle field 2 I'm playing atm @ 1600x1200 and it's laggy ever know and then,it's because I have 1 gig I think must be cacheing the rest form the HDD.

[TAG]Imp Say I had a E6400 2.13GHZ and the memory set to 667 and raised the FSB on the P5B Deluxe what should I be able to get the CPU up to on this memory?
Oh another thing I wanted to ask you what's a good 7900GT that's not overclocked that can reach very high overclocks if that makes sense.
Cheers

I wasnt saying that the ram was no good... i was just sayiong you cant base a decision on newegg reviews :P
If you guys say it uses Micron D9, then its good memory... obviously not binned as high as g.skill or team, but still good for the money.

Cheers for helping me decide on this memory guys, I have 1 other question
What a good case to use that's not going to break the bank?
Also what is a good AIR CPU cooler?
