View Full Version : Which P5B Deluxe do you have?

It was pointed out by a member at another forum that there are 2 versions of the P5B Deluxe floating around. I haven't been paying attention to this but so far all of the ones I have seen around here have the black pcb, shown below:

Another version, without the heatpipe connecting the northbridge and mofset coolers and with a brown pcb, shown below:

All that this thread really needs to know is this: PCB color and max FSB (mobo limited)... if you are memory limited, please specify this.

The brown one come without the Wifi. I don't think it's available in store, but it show on Asus Web site.
So everyone here would have the black one.

p5b deluxe (brown) doesnt has heatpipe, but got mosfet heatsink at the top side of the board.. hmm why there is none for deluxe wifi (black) ?

Who had the brown one? How high have you gotten fsb???

It seems as though some of these boards are incredible and others are "so, so"

Just trying to figure out if this is why or if it is just the luck of the draw.

well I think it depends alot on the chip, mine did 500-510 x 7 with a 6300, but won't get anywhere near that with my 6400, so it's all in the chips moreso than the boards:D

Wrong. There is 3 different P5B (not counting the VM and microATX one)

Asus P5B
Asus P5B Deluxe
Asus P5B Deluxe WiFi-AP

And:
Asus P5B-E
Asus P5B-V
Asus P5B-V DH Deluxe
Asus P5B-VM

just look in asus web site for a list of all of them.

It seems then, that the non-Wifi Deluxe version is hard to come by or not for sale at all as someone else mentioned.

Note the 2-pcie slots on the brown pcb as well... i noticed that before i realized it said deluxe on it lol

black board. the boards previous FSB was 430 but that wasnt really trying to oc.

Black one here. I'm stuck around 435 fsb but that's without going too crazy with the voltages.

It is really hard to come by, I've only seen it in some online-shops in Germany.
I was looking for it myself as I don't need that Wifi at all, so why pay for it - but the price difference is just around €10...
