I havent decided yet how im going to set up my OS HD's maybe a couple 74gb raptors in raid 0. What I'm really stuck on though, is which HD's I should pick up if my main concern is lots of storage. I have heard the seagate 500gbs are slow, also would it be cheaper to just get 250 gb x 2? I noticed the increment in price from 500gb->750gb seems to make it not worth it.

What would you guys recommend? I was kind of thinking of just getting 1 x 500gb for now, then maybe a 2nd for a TB down the road. I don't want a 500gb though if its going to be slow and over priced.

my main concern is lots of storage. If you care about the data on your drives. Raid0 is not the way to go, Raid1, raid5, Raid6, Raid10 and raid 0+1 are all options. I would suggest one large drive over two drives in raid0 for storage. however a 3 drive raid5 setup would be a viable alternative to a single drive

No,
I don't plan on raiding my storage drives, just the drives with my OS. Probably the raptor and maybe 3 x 250gb or 1x 500gb for storage, im not sure.
