Windows Media DRM Broken

Haven't seen this posted up here yet, but WMP 10/11 DRM has been broken wide open.

I'm sure M$ will switch up their DRM soon, but I'll still be very interested to see what kind of impact this has on the PlaysForSure market.

on one hand it will teach that DRM is futile...

On the other hand it will make media companies less ready to release material.

It doesn't matter. Most people have found other ways around it, for example analog recording of DRM protected music...High quality and within the rules of DRM.

This is old news though. I know a couple of apps that remove DRM from your files (yes, remove, like take the DRM out of the coding of the file, rather than make a mp3 copy of it).

unDRM 2 is one I remember by heart.

Do you mena AutoMate DRM or DecryptIt ? I've only gotten those to work on a win2k installation. Had lots of troubles with xp.

no automate unDRM 2, could be the one you mean though:D
Ive used tunebite before, but that just converts your drmprotected files into mp3 files without DRM.

I use it to, but remember that it only works with wmp 10.3646 or lower and there's a windows update envolving drm that you can't install.

I use pc-cillin AND fsecure on this pc, and they didn't find anything.(My dads pc, security freak).
